The Romance Library
Written By Olivia Spring
Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Olivia Spring and Hartley Publishing for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

I have been a fan of Olivia Spring Rom Com’s for a while now. However, none of her books grasped my attention, felt relatable, and touched my heart the way that this one did. I felt we were seeing a different side of Olivia in this book.

What originally grabbed my attention was the fun bookish graphic on the front that very much represented the book well.

I can totally relate to Mr. Davis when she said that ‘Reading is like a holiday for the mind. Books allow you to experience a million different adventures without leaving home.’ We both couldn’t agree more and can’t imagine life without them.

Jessica seemed to be very passionate once about reading but it was taken away from her. I was very interested to find out what made her lose that fire within her.

I could not stop laughing when Mrs. Davis asked Jessica if she had a boyfriend. After I just entered into the dating pool after many years away I could vouch for Jessica's statement that real-life boyfriends aren’t as good as fictional ones.

Now, I am an open minded reader and little shocks me but there was one scene I was not expecting to see in Olivia’s book. I too wanted to knee that guy in the balls!!

It was mixed emotions along with Jes when we heard that she

had acquired Mrs. Davis dreams of building a romance library after only meeting her once. This is the story about bringing Mrs Davis' dream to become a  reality no matter what the obstacles that stopped in their way.

Of course there has to be a little bit of romance in this book as that is what Olivia is best known for.

The Romance Library is definitely a book you must put on your TBR List as it is a must read.

First, I want to thank Emily Shiner, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Ohh it has been a hott minute since I have been able to sync my eyes into a Emily Shiner book!! Ohh let me tell you Meet The Parents was definitely worth the wait!! Emily casted this book with characters with deep dark secrets that made this story ever so twisted. If you are a fan of Emily Shiner like I am, this is a must read!

Emily’s prologue started out intense, detailed, action packed, and attention grabbing. It left you with so many questions that you just had to keep reading on just to find out the answers.

My heart instantly ached for Gina as a young girl witnessed the death of her Aunt. Just as we find out this tragic news in the story Emily flashes back to the night in question and we get to be a fly on the wall and witness it happen. Gina knows who did this to her Aunt….

Ohh how I didn’t care for Marta!! She was Owen’s mother and despised Gina! She would do anything to tear them apart! She totally got under my skin!!

I, Rob Graves

Here, you will delve into the compelling and deeply personal narrative of "I, Rob Graves," a remarkable journey that unveils the critical importance of accurate diagnosis and treatment compliance. In this introspective odyssey, you'll follow the life of Robert P. Graves, a resilient gay man who came of age in Buffalo, New York, during the height of the AIDS Epidemic.

As you navigate the pages of this story, Robert opens his heart and soul, laying bare the intimate details of his life's tapestry. You'll accompany him through the arduous process of self-discovery and acceptance of his homosexuality, while bearing witness to the monumental health challenges he encountered along the way. Robert bares it all—his years of therapy, the battle against a sex addiction, his journey of reconciling his sexuality, and the management of depression and Bipolar Disorder through meticulous medication oversight.

Within these words, you'll discover how Robert learned the profound art of forgiveness and acceptance, ultimately finding success and inner peace in a world that often met him with cruelty. By sharing his story, he passionately champions the cause of destigmatizing mental health and sexuality, dismantling the stereotypes that have been unfairly assigned.

The title, "I, Rob Graves," alludes to Robert's tumultuous past, where he grappled with an anonymous sex addiction as a way to self-medicate during one of the most perilous eras for gay men. Yet, he emerged from those dark days, triumphant and HIV-negative, having defied the odds during the AIDS Epidemic.

Penned by a gay man who weathered the storm of the AIDS Epidemic and wrestled with the complexities of mental health, "I, Rob Graves" stands as a beacon of hope. It encourages readers to forge their own paths when grappling with mental health, sexuality, and addiction, whether within the LGBTQ+ community or the broader society. Robert's story serves as an inspirational testament to resilience, extending a reassuring hand to those enduring trauma and mental health struggles, letting them know they are not alone, not "diseased" or tainted, but deserving of the same love, acceptance, and forgiveness that Robert has found within himself.

Thank you for visiting RobertPGraves.com, where we hope you'll find solace, inspiration, and a powerful reminder that there is light at the end of even the darkest tunnels.

Who Is Robert P. Graves

Robert, a seasoned author with a thriving career in the corporate world as a project manager for a prominent multinational healthcare equipment corporation, resides in Buffalo, New York. Embracing his identity as an openly gay individual, Robert's journey is marked by resilience and self-discovery.

His encounter with chronic clinical depression at the tender age of 16 marked the onset of a lifelong battle, one that had silently plagued him since the age of nine when he experienced his inaugural episode of self-harm ideation. As he navigated the process of coming out, his depression evolved into bipolar depression disorder, remaining unidentified and untreated until he reached the age of 44. The untreated manic episodes manifested in the form of an anonymous sex addiction, a struggle that persisted for over two decades, even during the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It wasn't until Robert candidly addressed this addiction with his therapist that his bipolar disorder finally came to light. Through the aid of pharmacological intervention and dedicated therapeutic support, he triumphed over his addiction.

Robert's forties have ushered in a phase of stability and personal growth, characterized by his passion for boating, gardening, and active community involvement with esteemed organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association. In the company of his beloved companions, Bacchus the cat and Lily the French bulldog, he cherishes the tranquil moments life offers.

Having traversed a profound therapeutic journey, Robert has cultivated the capacity to forgive others and embrace his family and friends as they are. His focus has now shifted inward, allowing him to extend forgiveness to himself for the recklessness of his past decisions. Today, he stands as a testament to success and resilience—a healthy, HIV-negative gay man thriving amidst the complexities of bipolar depression.

My Struggle With Childhood Trauma, Homosexuality and Bipolor Disorder

Written By Robert P. Graves

Review by Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Robert P. Graves and Lilibet Publishing for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

I, Rob Graves, My Struggle with Childhood Trauma, Homosexuality, and Bipolar Disorder Is the perfect book to read right after we just celebrated pride month.

Why you may ask? Because Robert P. Graves opens his heart and shares his raw emotions of what it feels like to have unknown feelings for someone in a world where he couldn’t be his true self. Many including myself (who in June just came out as pansexual) can totally relate many aspects of this story and know that others will too.

First, let's just talk about how beautiful and calming this book cover is! Rob mentioned in the book he wrote this book in a tropical destination so this beach scenery is perfect for the cover! I loved it!

Rob would like to dedicate this book to George. He will ever be grateful for your gifts of kindness and friendship. For giving him the knowledge of forgiveness and acceptance. May he RIP.

One thing I loved about this book was that Rob and I are both WNYers and I also lived in Rochester for a little bit. That being said, a lot of the places, events or individuals he had mentioned I was familiar with.

I loved hearing stories of him growing up. But the one that stood out to me was when his car caught on fire at school! How in the world did that happen?! Oh and that funny comment the teacher made cracked me up.

Rob shares his stories of how he learned he was interested in men. As the book gets deeper the stories he shares get way more explicit! When I mean explicit oh he goes spicy!!! Very spicy and he is good at writing that genre.

There is a story that he shares that I remember seeing on the news and l remember thinking that is an odd news story…only to find out Rob lived it. Now I have the mental picture to back it up lol.

My heart broke in two and I wanted to reach into the book and give Rob such a huge hug when he got the tragic news of George's passing!

This book deals with a lot of very important issues such as mental health, HIV, Mental Health, Childhood Trauma, Bipolarism, etc.

This is a must read and I highly recommend it.

First, I want to thank Buffalo, NY’s Library to Go Van, Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

OMG!!! Can you believe I have never read any of Freida McFadden Books?! Me one who is obsessed with psychological thrillers?! Everyone has been raving about her on social media! So, when my friend from high school asked me what I thought of her books for her daughter. I didn’t have an answer for her so I decided I would read The Teacher. Now, It was not appropriate for her Daughter but her Mom would love it! At least I did!

Freida takes you back in time to high school if you ever had a crush on a teacher you will relate to this student. However, dang she took it way further than our high school minds ever did!!!

The Teacher is fast paced, addictive, binge worthy, unputdownable, scandalous, and very taboo!! This book was full of dirty little secrets, and mind blowing revelations.

Freida has me hooked and I will definitely be reading more of her books!

It only took a moment for everything to go wrong. A little girl is hurt, but who is to blame?

I’m so happy as I walk to pick up my seven-year-old son from the birthday party. It’s his first since we moved here, and I know he’s found it hard settling in. Just as I’ve found it hard to make friends among the mothers at the school gates. But as I turn the corner, my heart stops when I see an ambulance.

I start to run.
My son, is all I can think. I have to find my son.

As I race into the garden, desperately searching for my blue-eyed little boy, a fellow parent turns to me, her finger pointed. The words out of her mouth make my blood run cold.

Your son did this. This is your fault.”

Surely that can’t be true? My son can be difficult, but I’d know if he was capable of hurting someone… Wouldn’t I?

As a little girl is lifted onto a stretcher, I feel my world come crashing down. My heart cracks in two for this poor child, her devastated family. Because there’s no coming back from this. An innocent girl has been hurt. My son is being blamed.
But I’m his mother, and I’ll do whatever it takes to find out what really happened…

A totally gripping and emotional novel about trust, female friendship and betrayal. Perfect for fans of Jodi Picoult, Liane Moriarty and Susan Lewis.
Kate Hewitt is the author of many romance and women’s fiction novels. A former New Yorker and now an American ex-pat, she lives in a small town on the Welsh border with her husband, five children, and their overly affectionate Golden Retriever. In The Blink Of An Eye

Written By Kate Hewitt

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Kate Hewitt, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

WOW!!! Kate Hewitt is known for her well written stories that pulls on your heartstrings. However, this time around she surprised me and did something a little bit different. She actually went a little darker than she usually does and I Liked that side of her! It made for a very interesting read.

I will admit the book wasn't as fast paced in the beginning as I usually liked. However when it did pick up I sped through the book no problem.

Kate educated her readers with such important medical conditions such as being a sociopath, conduct disorder, bullying, harassment, ADHD, ADD, and PDD.

#TeamKieren. All the way!! He was the one that pulled hard on my heartstrings the most. My heart went out to him for all that he was being accused of, how he was being treated,

I can’t imagine being a parent and the horror of finding your child the way they did! It was truly a shocking and heartbreaking scene!

There were a lot of wicked twists and turns and some shocking moments as well.

Overall it is a great read. If you are a fan of Kate’s book you need to pick this one up.
