Tasche Laine was born in Wichita, Kansas, grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and has visited most of the United States and a few countries (she loves to travel).
After college and numerous jobs, including a stint as a TV news reporter, Tasche settled in sunny southern California, where she raised her daughter and taught child actors as a studio teacher in Hollywood, as well as middle school and high school English.
After raising her daughter, Tasche rediscovered her passion for writing and moved back to her roots. She says it’s easier to write when it’s raining than when it’s sunny. Her first book, CLOSURE, won an award in recognition of excellence in writing for Readers’ Favorite in 2018. It is a fictional memoir based on her life. She switched gears with her novel, CHAMELEON, taking the same main character on a high steaks, fictitious roller coaster ride, thus amping up her ‘normal’ life to thriller status. CHAMELEON was a 2020 Book Excellence Awards Winner for Female Empowerment in fiction.
From there, Tasche began her Young Adult series, CHRONICLES OF V, met the love of her life, and started a new journey co-authoring children’s books with her new husband. Peter and Tasche live in the Pacific Northwest with their rescue puppy, Cody.
Tasche is also a full-time book editor at Skye Blue Press.
Peter Valdez III is the third Peter in his family and the oldest of 29 grandchildren. To differentiate him from his father and grandfather, his family nicknamed him Lil Peter.
Peter was born and raised in and around the Los Angeles area, in California. The first book in the Lil Peter series, GET UP, Lil Peter. GET UP! is a tribute to Peter’s grandfather, and one of the many life lessons he learned as a child. Putting his first story together with his wife, and co-author, Tasche Laine, was such an enjoyable process that they decided to keep it going.
Each story in the series is told with a message or lesson that impacted Peter’s life as a child, and grounded him as an adult. Stay tuned for more of Lil Peter’s adventures!
Peter lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Tasche, and their rescue puppy, Cody. He still enjoys playing soccer every chance he gets.

First, I want to thank Peter Valdez, Tasche Laine, Mei Mei Leonard and Skye Blue Press for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.
YES!! I am a huge fan of Peter Valdez, Tasche Laine and Mei Mei Leonard’s Lil Peter series!! I was so excited to read Pick Me Lil Peter Pick Me! All of their books tell a great story with an incredible message! Mei Mei does a beautiful job on the illustrations that make this story come alive. The three of them make a fantastic team!
Both Peter and Tasche would like to dedicate this book to all the Teachers out there that made us think outside of the box and to see things in unconventional ways.
Pick Me Lil Peter Pick Me put such a smile on my face with this adorable story and the powerful meaning behind it. I could totally relate to the children in the book as I was always the one pick last!
Mei Mei outdid herself on the graphics in this one! She is incredibly talented as her illustrations were detailed, fun, and very colorful! Beautiful work Mei Mei.
Kids of all ages, even kids at heart like me would really enjoy this book. Especially if they love sports. This book would be perfect for school libraries and classrooms for story time. This is one book you need to read this year!
