Review: Love in Chaos by Beth Gildersleeve

Author Beth Gildersleeve

Beth Gildersleeve lives for a happily ever after, especially when it’s part of a contemporary sweet romance story. Beth’s a big fan of Dr. Brené Brown and her work around shame, vulnerability, and bravery. Her characters’ struggles and successes reflect these themes. When Beth isn’t plotting or writing, she’s busy Googling answers to her adult daughters’ questions (they still think she knows everything), finding misplaced items for her husband of almost thirty years, serving her rescued dogs’ needs, losing at Words with Friends, and searching for the last three books to complete her Betty Neels collection. She is a member of RWA and Northern Lights Writers.

Synopsis of Love in Chaos

She’s proudly single. He’s a free spirit.

But when they’re forced to play roommates, will sparks fly?

After practically raising her four younger siblings, Rica Palma can't wait to live her life to the fullest. So, when she wakes up in a hot friend's bed and can’t remember the night before, she wonders if she's ready to handle the freedom. But as her teenage sister returns desperate for a place to live, Rica feels her life plan and her freedom slipping further away.

Parker Thorpe’s hard-hitting articles leave the journalist with emotional scars. So, he tries to calm his nerves on his houseboat despite his simmering crush on the beautiful Brazilian, Rica. But his quest for R&R goes sideways when he learns he’s the single father to a two-month-old baby.

After a tragic accident leaves Parker and the infant homeless, Rica’s sister ignores the awkwardness and invites them to move in. As the two loners become a blended family, close quarters can’t help but lead to something more.

Can Rica and Parker open their hearts and let love conquer all?

Love in Chaos
By Beth Gildersleeve
Review by HeidiLynn's BookReview

First, I want to thank Beth Gildersleeve for providing me with this book so I can give you this review.

Beth Gildersleeve submerges her readers into the drama unfolding in Love In Chaos right from the begging of the story. You instantly get to know the characters and all juicy ups and downs in their life. At times I felt as I was watching a prime-time soap opera. These few scenes were some of my favorite sections in the whole book.

Some of the things that were said in this book cracked me up laughing big time!

I loved the twist in the story how two characters became unexpected parents.

It was great to see so many unique character names in this book. For example, Marta, Ricardo, Rica, Wren, Croix, etc.

The texting portion of the book that breaks up the story line is a welcome change.
