When I graduated college, one of my friends said, "Look out for this one; she's going to be an author one day." Despite being an avid reader and a natural storyteller, it wasn't until that very moment that the idea of writing novels occurred to me.

Sometimes our friends can see the things that we can't.

While I didn't start straight away, that comment sowed a seed and several years, two children, and hundreds of thousands of words later, I completed a novel that I felt was worthy of publication. The result was Coming Home for Christmas, a heart-warming story about friends, family, and the magic of love at Christmas.

The rest is history.

When I'm not writing, I'm publishing through my imprint Harpeth Road Press. I’m also a mother of two boys and a wife to a very supportive husband.

The Secret Ingredient

Written By Nancy Naigle

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Nancy Naigle and Harpeth Road Press for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Ohh The Secret Ingredient by Nancy Naigle was a super cute read! This book will put a smile on your face and love in your heart! Ironically enough It doesn’t just read like a Hallmark Channel Movie this book was made into a movie! I have not yet seen it but after reading the book I really want to!

There were so many things about this book that I adored! The small town setting of the book was so cute! I could see myself living there. I loved the second chance love story that was full of ups and downs and twists and turns to the storyline.

I absolutely love how they both went and pursued their passions and made a name for themselves. However, I was not a fan of the original break up! But loved the reunion with everyone.

If you have a sweet tooth this book is definitely for you. As a treat in the back of the book Nancy gives us two of her recipes.

One thing that I thought was original was she had a mini pet pig named Gray. When you hear why she named him this you will be laughing hysterically.

This is a cute fun read that can be devoured in one day.

Title: Abel (Broken Falls, #2)

Author: Laramie Briscoe

Genre:Contemporary Romance

Release Date:March 15, 2024

Hosted by: Buoni Amici Press, LLC.

A year worth of flirting comes down to this kiss...

Abel

I've eaten more tacos the past year than I have my entire life. It's not because I love those little handfuls of goodness (although I do). It's because of the woman who runs the local food truck Let's Taco Bout ⬇ ⬇ It. Seeing her makes my day, and while I can't admit my feelings, I can at least see her smile.

Until Halloween. When a man gives her attention she doesn't want, she pretends we're together, and lays a kiss on me that I'll never forget.

Kara

I've spent the last year watching the hottie in the constantly torn and dirty jeans eating shyly walking up to my food truck and ordering the same thing each time. I've done my best to drag him out of his shell, but nothing works until a night of unwanted attention forces me to make a move.

Now? He's hanging around even more, and when his husky voice calls me his girlfriend? I melt into a puddle, and he's the only one who can pick me up and put me back together again.

Abel is book two in The Broken Falls Series: a series of interconnected standalones following a group of friends who have become family in small-town West Virginia, and the women who bring them to their knees. You do not have to read them in order, but each book builds upon the relationships of the last.

I'm slightly nervous as I follow him into his kitchen. I gasp when I get a good look. His kitchen is my dream. Stainless steel appliances, cabinets painted a dark gray that almost pulls blue in the darkness coming through the back windows. White marble countertops are spotless and inviting. Contemporary lighting provides enough where it's needed, and softens where it isn't. "You have a pot filler," I gasp with jealousy.

He laughs. "I do. When Dad and I were designing this place, he said I'd appreciate it if I were ever going to make dinner often. Since I do, I use it all the time."

"You make dinner a lot?" I'm learning so much about him tonight.

"When I decided to buy this place and gut it, I didn't have a ton of money. Still repaying college loans too," he shrugs.  "So while I do go out with my friends to the bar, I don't spend a ton as I'm paying down stuff. Dad helped me more than he should've, but he wasn't able to take care of everything. The amount of free labor and construction work he gave me for this place was well into the hundreds of thousands. My friends helped too, which is why they hang out here all the time when we aren't working or at Monroe's."

The scent of whatever we're going to eat permeates the room. "What else are you going to surprise me with tonight?" I tilt my head to the side.

"Hopefully everything you never imagined I would be."

Our eyes meet, and I get lost in the green depths of his. I've seen them in many different situations and they tend to change colors depending on what's happening. It runs the gamut from very light to dark, like the luscious floor of the rainforest. "I don't really know you at all do I?" My voice is quiet as I observe him. "Does anyone really know you?"

He scratches the back of his neck, ducking his head down. "There are very few people who do, and I prefer it that way.”
