Prodigal Captive by Rachel Woods

#CandidBookReviews
First, I want to thank Rachel Woods for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Rachel Woods wrote the most unique and interesting mystery book with interesting topics in The Prodigal Captive that I have ever read before. There were times in the book where I was laughing and other times I was shaking my head thinking WOW she went there. I read a lot of mystery books but none of them deal with a severed penis from a dead body. Made me think of John Wayne Bobbitt. Whom ironically is from my neck of the woods. So, that is why I was laughing.

I totally commended Silas the character that came out to his father as thinking he was born the wrong gender! That must have been so hard to do coming out as being transgender. I am a very open-minded person and very pro LGBT. So, I was totally cool with this aspect of the story. What concerned me was he was one of the ones that went missing. You couldn’t help wonder if this was the reason behind it. However, he was not the only one that was missing.

This was a very fast paced moving mystery that kept you guessing. For me I kept wondering why they cut off his penis lmao!!

A Reason to Live by T.K. Chapin

TK Chapin and his beautiful wife Crystal

T.K. CHAPIN writes Christian Romance books designed to inspire and tug on your heart strings. He believes that telling stories of faith, love and family help build the faith of Christians and help non-believers see how God can work in the life of believers. He gives all credit for his writing and storytelling ability to God. The majority of the novels take place in and around Spokane Washington, his hometown. Chapin makes his home in the Pacific Northwest and has the pleasure of raising his daughter with his beautiful wife Crystal.

First, want to thank T.K. Chapin for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

A Reason to Live A Reason to Love Series: Book One is one of T.K. Chapin’s will be one of his best series yet. I have been a huge fan of T.K. Chapin for a while now and each book he puts out amazes me. Each one gets better than the last one. What is it with single men and young kids put in difficult positions in books that just tug on my heart strings?! Mix in a little bit of what T.K. does best with incorporating his faith into the story and you have an amazing story!

So many times in this book I wanted to jump into the book and hug the characters. So much heartache and pain in many of the characters. However, a chance encounter brings two people together and changes both of their lives for the better. It is a truly amazing story that will make your heart smile!

I must add that I am totally in love with the cover! Even before I knew what the book was about I knew I had to read this book! Kudos to T.K.’s Graphic Designer.

First, I want to thank Ameila Hendrey for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Warning to fellow readers this book is not for everyone. This book has topics such as violence, domestic abuse, verbal abuse, rape, abandonment at age 3, and could be a trigger to many. The material in this book is not for the faint of heart. Read at your own risk.

Ameila Hendrey is one of the bravest and one of the strongest woman I know to share her story in What Nobody Knew.  This is her story of the emotional, mental and most of all the horrid physical pain that was inflicted by her father over and over throughout the years. How her Step Mom just let it happen and how her biological Mom at age 3 abandoned her.
So many times I wanted to jump in the book and rescue her from everything that was going on.

You cant help but get emotionally attached to this character whom pulls on so many of your heart strings. Infact, there are two times in this book that I literally cried for Amelia! I said this once and I will say it again nobody deserves what Amelia went through. This is one book that will stick with you way after the book ends.

One of the aspect of the books that I really enjoyed were the reports from Social Services. You got their view of what they thought what was really happening to Ameila. Obviously, some personal information to respect the privacy was left out.

However, In this story you got Ameila’s truth, her father’s lies, and what Social Services.

I seriously think this would make an awesome movie on Lifetime TV or a Netflix Original.
