Brittany has gone viral. And not in a good way.

Celebrity chef Brittany Cole has it all. Fame, success, and the perfect family. From her restored Vermont farmhouse, she's built a wholesome brand that is trusted by millions.

But when her four-year-old has a meltdown, a video of Brittany shouting at the little girl goes viral. It’s a PR nightmare that threatens to destroy Brittany’s squeaky-clean image—and her career.

And it’s about to get so much worse.

More videos of Brittany abusing her daughter are released and #bitchmom trends within hours. But Brittany knows something truly terrifying: none of these new videos are real. Someone out there is trying to destroy her with deepfakes. Someone who has been watching her home, her studio, her marriage.

As more damning videos surface, Brittany's perfect life unravels. Her sponsors flee. Her husband files for divorce. And then, when someone close to her is murdered, the police start asking questions Brittany can't answer.

Her only hope is to find out who is behind this campaign to destroy her. Because it’s clear that they don’t just want to ruin her life—they want to end it.

Just One Bite

Written By Miranda Rijks

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Miranda Rijks, Inkubator Books and Zooloo Booktours for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

All I took was Just One Bite by Miranda Rijks latest psychological thriller and I knew that this was going to be a sweet read. She dug deep and created such a unique out of the box storyline that made me instantly fall in love with this book. Infact, strongly believe that Just One Bite is one of Miranda’s best creative endeavors yet! Don’t take my word for it come take Just One Bite for yourself and see how you like it.

Miranda’s cover design for Just One Bite was perfect for this book’s theme! Plus, who doesn’t love a good cupcake. I will admit I was drawn to the cover and the title first and then saw it was Miranda’s book. It was the perfect trifecta.

Out of all the characters in the book Alisa pulled on my heart strings the most. She was so adorable in how inquisitive she was.  Although at times I admit she could be a handful.

What I loved was that Britney trained to be a nutritionist and had a healthy-eating blog early on when learning their daughter Alisa was celiac and lactose intolerant. From there her business blossomed

I really liked that Miranda included a character that was disabled and wheelchair bound. Many authors don’t include characters into their storylines who have disabilities, may it be physical, mental or invisible. As someone with a few disabilities of my own I appreciate her bringing this character into the book.

Just One Bite is a book for you if you like reality cooking shows, social media influencers, lots of drama and massive twists and turns you really should at least take a lick at the frosting.

Best friends are supposed to trust each other. But what if the only reason you’ve stayed friends all these years… is to watch each other closely? And what if your toxic friend is about to destroy your life?

I watch Victoria and Reese leaving their favourite coffee shop arm-in-arm. They like to go there to catch up, brag about their perfect husbands and their perfect children.

But I know the truth. Behind those big smiles, Reese and Victoria have kept each other close so they can watch each other. Their friendship is toxic. And their lives are built on one big lie.

I carefully snap another photograph to add to my collection. Neither of them knows I see everything they do. They’ll find out soon enough, when I bring their lies out into the open. Then it will be just the three of us, together again after all these years.

Because the past is coming back to bite these two women…

It’s me. I’m the past. Here I come.

A totally addictive psychological thriller by million-copy bestseller Nicole Trope that will have you racing through the pages late into the night! Fans of Andrea Mara, Shari Lapena and Freida McFadden won’t be able to put this down.

Nicole Trope

Nicole Trope went to university to study Law but realised the error of her ways when she did very badly on her first law essay because, as her professor pointed out, ‘It’s not meant to be a story.’

She studied teaching instead and used her holidays to work on her writing career and complete a Masters’ degree. In between raising three children, working for her husband and renovating houses, she has published multiple bestselling novels. She lives in Sydney, Australia.

First, I want to thank Nicole Trope, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Ohh Nicole Trope is back and this time around she introduces to a friend of hers. Not just any friend mind you…oh no this is The Toxic friend and let me tell you she is TOXIC!!! She drove me absolutely BATTY!! There were many times in this book Camilla made me ginger snap!! May I add that rarely characters rub me the wrong way but this one did. She had a vendetta and kept repeating herself over and over but didn't get to her point. It made me want to scream.

I have to say I loved how Nicole named one of her characters Reese! My sister married into the Reese family and well that is my favorite candy too. So when they had kids I nicknamed them my little Reese’s pieces (even though they are teenagers now). So, I smiled when Nicole used that name in the book.

Being on social media for various accounts I can’t imagine getting hate from someone from your past knowing they know the truth about your life and it was based on a lie. That would just freak the heck out of me for a variety of different reasons. Not to mention out of the blue years after you had not seen or heard from that person. Why are they just getting in contact with you now? What do they really want from you? Who else may they have contacted that knows anything?

A smile came to my face when I read how the names of Reese’s kids Dylan and Cash came about! What a fun story for when they become older.

OMG there are seriously massive wicked twists that will stop you dead in your tracks and you will have to pick your jaw up off the floor!!! For who you thought was sending the messages might just not be the one sending the messages at all. So….who is really The Toxic Friend?! What does this person want? Trust me you will want to add this to your TBR List!! It is one of Nicole’s must read books!

The Twenty Dates

The kids have left, assuming love endures. But can yours?

Book #2 in The Empty Nesters Series

Claire’s marriage is in (total!) crisis. Her husband, Mark, is distracted, presumptuous, and utterly clueless - smart scales for their 19th wedding anniversary? Really? Perhaps she'd be better off alone. At least there'd be less laundry.

When Claire suggests separating, Mark panics. He asks for one last chance: twenty dates, one for each year of their marriage, to prove they're better off together than apart.

What follows is a series of adventures Claire never saw coming - some mortifying, some exhilarating, and some that make her question everything she thought she knew. About Mark. About marriage. And about the woman she's quietly become while she wasn't paying attention.

As the dates tick down, Claire must decide: is the spark still there - or has their marriage simply run its course?

Stolen

Written By Ruby Speechley

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Ruby Speechley, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Ruby would like to dedicate this book to her bookworm daughter Sophie.

Dang!! Ruby Speechley wasted no time and dove straight into the intense nail biting edge of your seat scenes in her psychological thriller Stolen. Ruby’s descriptions were insanely detailed, the storyline was fast paced. I felt as if I was a fly on the wall watching the events in the prologue unfold. Being a fan of not only Ruby Speechley but of missing person cases I really enjoyed this book and would recommend this to anyone’s TBR list.

My heart was beating outside of my chest putting myself in Vicki’s shoes not knowing what was going on with her children who she put in the care of a babysitter-Jess!! Why couldn’t she get a hold of her children or the babysitter? Why were their phones off? My anxiety was going through the roof along with Vicki’s!! I was praying that they were ok.

Lee was my least favorite character for oh so many reasons!! You will just have to read the book to figure out why I said what I said! Let me know if you agree that he is your least favorite too!

Stolen is very fast paced, thrilling, gripping, nail-biting, twisted read that you will want to put on your TBR list.

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

"Funny, furious, and profane." —
The New York Times

“Not your typical celebrity memoir.” —Jimmy Kimmel

Unflinchingly honest and darkly funny, You with the Sad Eyes unveils a side of Christina Applegate we’ve never seen, forever cementing her formidable and iconoclastic legacy.

Christina Applegate came of age on sets and stages, expected to be on time, with lines learned, ready for lights-camera-action. What started as a financial necessity soon became an emotional escape from a tumultuous home life in the infamous Laurel Canyon scene of the 70s and 80s. She rocketed to stardom on the sitcom
Married...with Children and went on to captivate audiences in classics like Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead…, Anchorman, and Dead to Me in her five-decade long career.

Then it all stopped. A Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis in 2021 confined her to a king-sized bed and the company of memories she’d rather forget: memories of the self-doubt and body dysmorphia that stalked her meteoric rise, of her mother’s fight against addiction and abuse after her father left, and of the tax life had taken on her body and mind that was suddenly coming due.

Now, at her most intimate and vulnerable, she unveils a story not even those closest to her fully know. She returns to the diaries she kept her whole life, finding the pain matched by joy, the losses mitigated by the extraordinary, and the weight of life lifted by her unrelenting belief that something greater lay ahead. No longer willing to lock herself away and with the perspective only our own mortality can bring, she knew it was imperative to tell it all.

You with the Sad Eyes presents a remarkable woman and her legacy. In her own words, “I truly believe that books can make people feel less alone. That’s why I’m doing this. You with the Sad Eyes won’t be some big violin scratching for my life. But it will be real. It will be filled with the ups and downs, the humor and grief of life.

So here I am.

Real me.

Lots to say.”

Christina Applegate
is an Emmy® award-winning actress known for her captivating performances across film, television, and theatre. Applegate has charmed audiences throughout her career, from her breakout role as Kelly Bundy in MARRIED WITH CHILDREN to her award-winning performance in DEAD TO ME. With memorable credits along the way including ANCHORMAN, DON’T TELL MOM THE BABYSITTER’S DEAD, and her Tony-nominated performance in SWEET CHARITY on Broadway, Applegate has solidified her status as a Hollywood legend. In 2024, Applegate launched her own podcast with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, ‘MeSsy’, where the co-hosts get vulnerable about life’s curveballs and living with MS. With hilarious but grounded conversations, joined by special guests including Will Ferrell, Jean Smart, Robin Roberts, and Jimmy Kimmel, they reflect on persevering through the messiness of life. Beyond her success on the screen, Applegate is recognized for her advocacy work, raising awareness about various causes close to her heart. Applegate’s talent, grace, and humanitarian work continue to inspire fans worldwide.

You With The Sad Eyes

A Memoir

Written By Christina Applegate

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

When I had heard Christina Applegate was writing her memoir You With The Sad Eyes I knew that I needed to put it on my TBR list. I have been a fan of her acting since she was on Married with Children, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead, and more recently Bad Moms. However, I knew that with this memoir Christina would personally invite us into her private world and bravely share her MS story among other aspects of her life. She is incredibly strong to not only go through this on a daily basis but to share her journey with the world is commendable.

The cover photo is a beautiful black and white picture of Christina. Whomever chose that picture did a great job!

This book is dedicated to Sadie for she is the reason for everything!

In 2021 Christina Applegate was diagnosed with MS. MS attacks the nervous system and slows down your function, your respiratory system, your organs, and everything. The disease eats away at all the things we take for granted. Some have lots of pain. Unfortunately, for Christina she has a lot of it when she wakes up with it. Christina has infusions every 6 months to slow the process down. Her stomach frequently slows down to a halt, leaving her to rush to the ER in pain.

As you can imagine with all of this that goes on with her the worst side effect is exhaustion. She sometimes goes in a three day sleepless bender.

My heart totally breaks for her that this has robbed Christina of her active life and who she once was! Now she escapes her reality into watching reality tv shows.

This book though is more than just about her MS a lot more!! It is about her past, her family, her childhood. Plus, there are pictures included in the book as well. I would highly suggest putting it on your TBR list.
