Her Sister's Promise: A totally heartbreaking and unputdownable page-turner by Catherine Miller
I laugh as I watch my sister cross the road, her blonde curls bouncing. Her happiness is so contagious that I fail to spot the black cab racing towards her…
In a split second, my world shatters. My heart pounds inside my chest as I helplessly look on. Harper’s life – my precious twin sister – hangs in the balance. And I know that nothing will ever be the same.
After the accident, I’m told Harper will live, but that she’ll never walk again. I make a promise to never leave her side, but she says it’s too painful to watch me continue to train as a dancer. And when she starts to distance herself from me, I’m in pieces. I have never done anything without her by my side, and suddenly she’s slipping away from me.
Facing life without my best friend is harder than I thought, and I can’t bear the pain of knowing that Harper is suffering. And as my world begins to crumble, will my sister remember the promise she made to me when we were children? That we would always find our way back to one another, and live our lives together, no matter what…
A heartbreaking and gripping emotional read, perfect for fans of unputdownable family dramas, and for those who love reading Jodi Picoult, Liane Moriarty and Diane Chamberlain.

About the author
When Catherine Miller became a mum to twins, she decided her hands weren’t full enough so wrote a novel with every spare moment she managed to find. By the time the twins were two, Catherine had a two-book deal with Carina UK. Her debut novel, Waiting For You, came out in March 2016.
Catherine was a NHS physiotherapist, but for health reasons she retired early from this career. As she loved her physiotherapy job, she decided if she couldn’t do that she would pursue her writing dream. It took a few years and a couple of babies, but in 2015 she won the Katie Fforde bursary, was a finalist in the London Book Fair Write Stuff Competition and highly commended in Woman magazine’s writing competition. Since then she’s had four novels published.

First, I want to thank Catherine Miller, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
WOW!!! I read Her Sister’s Promise on the way to spend a belated Christmas in Pittsburgh with my sister !! The emotions I felt reading this book were just unreal! Ohh you had me running to hug my Sister a little tighter after what I just read! This is a very beautiful written book that is full of emotion with so many great messages. This truly deserves more than 5 stars!
Catherine’s prologue was incredibly powerful, deep, fascinating and instantly I was hooked! In Her Sister’s Promise Catherine explored the strong and special bond that only twins experience. This book tested this bond on many different levels.
I absolutely adored that both girls Jodi and Harper both were passionate about dancing and performing!
There was one moment in the book where I was totally caught off guard!! I literally jumped and screamed!! Ugly tears ran down my face and my heart just broke!! It was something that replayed slowly in my head like something in a movie!
In Her Sister’s Promise I felt a connection with both sisters. Harper because my Brother in Law is a quadriplegic after a tragic accident two years ago. It is a life changing event for both he and Harper! Like Harper he too is a fighter and goes to physical therapy to get stronger! I related to Jodi because I wanted to be there for him.
Thank you Catherine for including a disabled character into your storyline. Very few authors write about this population and that is sad. We (I am disabled with migraines and chronic pain from scoliosis) in my opinion should be represented more in books.
Congratulations Catherine for marrying your long time partner Ben!!
Her Sister’s Promise is a book that must be added to your TBR list for 2023!
