Bright Stars

By: Tasche Laine

It has been 2 1/2 years in the making!! Book 2 of the Chronicles of V is HERE!!!

Like every teen, V looks forward to getting her driver’s permit. But there are more than speed bumps in her way. Will the lack of support from her parents, a shady driving instructor, and a series of home robberies keep her from her quest?

V can’t wait to learn to drive. Though her mom’s cancer is in remission, she can’t convince her parents to find the time to teach her. The frustrated V finds out about a new driver’s training course and doesn’t hesitate to sign up. But there’s something suspicious about the driving instructor, and a rash of break-ins puts her neighborhood on high alert.

As the robberies escalate, a friend’s mom is the next victim. A family heirloom necklace is among the missing items. V tries to stay focused on learning to drive, but mysterious things keep happening that she can’t ignore. Before she knows it, she’s in the middle of a case she didn’t want, is about to lose the friends she worked hard to get back, and might never get to drive!

Will she get this case in gear, or will her investigation crash?

Bright Stars is the enthralling second book in the Chronicles of V YA fiction series. If you like gutsy teens, relatable problems, and plenty of twists and turns along the road, then you’ll love Tasche Laine’s page-turning adventure.

Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Tasche Laine and Skye Blue Press for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Reunited and it feels so good!!! YES!!! It took 2 ½ years in the making but fans of V from Glass Stars will be ecstatic over the sequel Bright Stars!!! Thank you Tasche Laine for making this fan very happy!!!!

Bright Stars is a continuation to Glass Stars like I mentioned before. However, Tasche does a recap in the book of characters and situations. So, you could read it as a standalone. Guaranteed your head will be spinning with all the drama and events that you learned from the prior book. Both books are 5 stars.

Tasche brings you back in time to when a time was much simpler than it is today. Even though I would love to go back to that time frame she reminded me that it wasn’t all fun.

This book reminded me a lot of the tv show I used to watch and loved called Veronica Mars. Infact, this show was referenced in the book. I loved how V took on the role of Veronica and how she was determined to find out who stole the diamond necklace. That whole storyline totally fascinated me and was glued to the seat of my chair.

Dog lovers you will absolutely love the storyline Tasche wrote for you! It will make you smile and put love in your heart. She also goes above and beyond researching the dogs and posting pictures in her book. Dogs hold a special place in her heart.
