I’m a wife, mother of three children, and our rescued Goldendoodle, Ellie. I live in beautiful - sunny Arizona, where flip flops and T-shirts are mandatory for most of the year. I enjoy running and hiking and finding new travel adventures with my family.
In my early childhood years, I struggled with reading. The books of Dr. Seuss became a game of wordplay through their humor and rhyme. I began writing words that rhyme and started turning these words into poetry. When my nonverbal son with Autism couldn’t communicate it was important to me that consistent reading would help him in his journey. I believe this was an integral part of his introduction to speech at the age of five. Having the ability to communicate, he has fewer behavioral outbreaks and loves to tell beautiful stories of his own. When I began writing children’s picture books, I wanted to encourage children to become readers with the motivation of silly books. My books, Do Not Wish for a Pet Ostrich! and Do Not Wish for a Birthday Unicorn! was inspired by those same beloved Dr. Seuss books I read as a child. Rhyming teaches children how the English language works. It helps them predict what they read, which is an important reading skill for emergent readers. Be on the lookout for the 3rd book in this Silly Books for Kids collection, Do Not Wish for a Christmas Elf! Scheduled to be released by the end of 2023!

First, I want to thank Sarina Siebenaler and Gabby Correia for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.
WOW!!! WOW!! WOW!! This huge kid at heart totally fell in love with Sarina Siebenaler and Gabby Corriea’s Do Not Wish For A Birthday Unicorn! It is such a fun book that will have a koolaid grin on your face, giggling, and wondering how you can order a Unicorn for your children’s next party. This is a must read for all your kiddos, even the young at heart ones like me!
Sarina would like to dedicate this book to her three children Kaina, Kinsley and Landon. Life will take you places, some near and some far. But remember I’ll love you no matter where you are.
Gabby’s illustrations were stunningly beautiful with bright vibrant colors brightening up the pages. I love how she incorporated different characters from different racial, ethnic and even the disabled populations. I think this is so important this day in age for children to see this diversity in books.
This book reminded me of one year when my red headed niece (like the one in the book) had her very own unicorn themed Birthday party! I wish I would have known where to rent a unicorn for her! She would have loved that!
Do Not Wish For A Birthday Unicorn has some very important messages in this book for your little ones.
My favorite part of the book had to be the makeover! I was cracking up laughing thinking this is the kids reality show version! I totally loved it!!
I would definitely read and review from these two authors again! They both have some creative talent!
