The last girl went missing…
Someone doesn’t want her to be found.

When Sloane takes a job at the infamous whitewater rafting camp, Widow Falls, she quickly learns that the camp has a reputation for more than just summer fun.

People go missing at Widow Falls.

The guide she’s replacing was just one of many. As Sloane settles into her new home—a one-room apartment she’ll be sharing with the five other guides—she can’t help asking questions and digging into the disappearances she’s heard about. Her new roommates tell her stories of dark legends and dangerous folklore surrounding the secluded camp but assure her there’s nothing to worry about. It’s all just superstition.

When Sloane stumbles upon a clue and a secret message hidden beneath the floorboards of their loft, she begins to realize there may be more to the myths than she’s been told.
The message gets her attention: Don’t trust anyone at Widow Falls.

As she follows clues to better understand the missing guide she replaced, Sloane can’t help noticing the similarities between the two of them.

What happened to the other girl?
Why won’t the others help her search?
Are they all in danger?

Whatever’s happening at Widow Falls, it’s clear someone doesn’t want her digging into it. As the seams of her reality are torn apart, making her question everything she sees, feels, and believes, Sloane will have to uncover the truth about the camp—and its occupants—before someone else goes missing.

Because this time…it might be her.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHEN DID YOU FIRST KNOW YOU WANTED TO BE A WRITER?
It sounds cliche to say always, but it's the truth.
I've always known I wanted to be a writer.
Actually, I've always been a writer, even when I wasn't published yet. I wrote my first two novels in fourth grade (a series called The Life and Times of the Three Potatoes) and, as a kid, I was always writing novels, short stories, and poems. In high school, I would bring my new books (in the form of stacks of printer paper) to school and keep a list of the friends and teachers who wanted to read them. I had so much support from an early age and that really encouraged me to believe I could do this.
Writing is my favorite thing to do -- always has been.
There was never a moment where my hopes, dreams, and future plans didn't hinge on me becoming a novelist.

WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS?
This is such a tough question because I have so many.
I have to say Jodi Picoult, Mark Edwards, Minka Kent, Gillian Flynn, Jess Ryder, BA Paris, SJ Watson, Rachel Hawkins, and Ruth Ware are some of my favorites and the authors whose books I buy without even reading the blurb.

WHERE DOES YOUR INSPIRATION COME FROM?
This answer is different depending on which book we're talking about, but the short answer is that my inspiration comes from all over. I've had the initial spark for my stories come from a book I've loved, movie I've watched, song I've listened to, conversation I've overheard, vacation I've taken, an even just a random, what-if question that popped into my head.
Once I have that inspiration, I let that idea sit in my head for a while, play with a few possibilities, get to know the characters who would best tell the story, and go from there.
My mind never really rests. I'm always plotting and searching for inspiration.
I'm very grateful that my inspiration-well never seems to run dry.

WHAT HOBBIES DO YOU HAVE WHEN YOU AREN'T WRITING?
Hobbies? What are those?! I'm only kidding...sort of. I have a toddler, a husband, two crazy dogs, and I write full-time. So writing really does take up most of my time that's not dedicated to family. When I can squeeze an extra few minutes in, I love to curl up with a good book or watch Netflix.

OF ALL YOUR BOOKS, WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE?
This is one of the hardest questions for me to answer.
I love each of my books for different reasons, and picking a favorite would be like picking a favorite child. For each book, I spend a great amount of time in that world, with those characters, just trying to craft the best story I can. With each new book, I usually feel like it's my favorite for a while... At least until I begin writing my next one.
So, the short answer is: all of them.
And the better question is: which is YOUR favorite?

First, I want to thank Kiersten Modglin for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

DANG!! Kiersten Modglin continuously blows my mind at what an insanely creative storyteller she is!! I swear her writing style gets better and better with each book she writes. Her latest Widow Falls is my all time fave that she has written. She incorporated a little bit of everything for everyone in this 5 star must read psychological thriller.

Widow Falls kinda reminded me of a twisted 80’s camp movie that could be geared to young adults or teens at heart like me. If you know me then you know I love all things 80’s so this is a big compliment.

I absolutely loved how the storyline took place at a camp in the middle of nowhere! Kiersten did a phenomenal job describing the camp and its surroundings in detail.

Ohh there were times when Kiersten made me crack up laughing. Those scenes were so funny that they are etched into my head. Oh to be a fly on the wall during those scenes.

We learn the tragic and heartbreaking story of how Widow Falls got its name.

I was totally engrossed in the missing employee storyline!! What she did differently than any other author was we got to learn about this former employee through a written journal she left behind. Ohh there was some extremely juicy tidbits in that book!! Things that left you shocked and speechless! You could not help feel for that character!

Widow Falls is packed with secrets, mysteries, suspense, betrayals, shady practices, intense moments, heartbreak, etc.

This is one climatic ending I never ever saw coming! It was so twisted and messed up! Kiersten is the queen of pushing the envelope on her stories. This is definitely a book to put on your TBR pile!
