Peter’s bio:
Peter Valdez III is the third Peter in his family and the oldest of 29 grandchildren. To differentiate him from his father and grandfather, the family nicknamed him Lil Peter.
Get Up, Lil Peter. Get Up! is a tribute to his grandfather and one of many life lessons he learned as a child. Putting this story together--his first--has been such a fun process that he hopes to recreate many more lessons that impacted his life as a child and grounded him as an adult. Lil Peter's adventures are just starting. Stay tuned for more in a series of books to come!
Peter lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and rescue puppy, and still enjoys playing soccer when he gets the chance.

Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews
First, I want to thank Peter Valdez, Tasche Laine and Skye Blue Press for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Newlyweds Peter Valdez and Tasche Laine collaborated together with the help of Illustrator Mei Mei Leonard to bring you a children’s tale Get Up, Little Peter. Get Up! This is one book that all grandfathers should read with their grandsons. It is a fun read with few important life lessons thrown into the Mix.
This book is in loving memory of Peter Valdez Sr. The author’s grandfather and friend. His many life lessons made a profound impact on him. Without his tough love Peter would not be the man he has become today.
I feel that Mei Mei captured the essence of who Peter was as a little boy in her drawings of him. She created amazing pictures that along with Peter and Tasche made this story come to life.
I am a fan of Tasche’s writing as I have read other books of hers in a different genre. She has a gift for writing children’s books that speak to your heart and your inner child at heart. I am glad she teamed up with her husband Peter on this new collaboration and hope to read more in this series.
It made my heart happy to see the bond between Peter and his grandfather! They were truly the best of friends sharing quality time with one another.
Grandfather installed some very profound life lessons that are meaningful for anyone of any age.
There were a few moments in the book that were very comical. I found myself laughing.
The ending of this book took me by surprise in a good way. It definitely left a smile on my face.
