Ever since it happened, things have felt... well... different.”Students, teachers, and families alike have been eager for a sense of normalcy amid the global pandemic. Will the start of a new school year provide the “return to normal” that we all yearn for? “Things Feel Different” was written by an elementary school teacher to address the many changes and emotions experienced by children worldwide as they navigate the 2020 global pandemic. Through this story, the author hoped to emphasize that maintaining a positive mindset will prepare students as they continue to embark on the virtual and hybrid learning journey. Use this story as a resource for any parent or educator hoping to promote discussion about how particular growth mindset can help one cope with challenges and new experiences. *A MUST-HAVE text for the 2020-2021 school year!*“Stop and think, and you will find,It’s all about your frame of mind. When you take the change, and find what’s good,Different will feel more understood.” -Things Feel Different https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08JHPC57R/ref=dbs_a_def_awm_bibl_vppi_i0

Jessica Brzezinski has enjoyed working with children for as long as she could remember. She has worked as an educator for the past 15 years with elementary children of all ages. She holds her BS in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, as well as her MS in Education, specializing in Reading and Literacy.

Jessica wrote this story as students embark on their journey back to school amidst the coronavirus pandemic. She hopes it will serve as a gateway for discussion among parents, teachers, and students. Most importantly, she hopes children will feel connected to her story and they will find a sense of validation and hope that they have tools to pull themselves through challenging times.

Jessica teaches in Scotch Plains, NJ, and lives close by with her three amazing children and husband Bolus.

First, I want to thank Jessica Brzezinski and Sandra’s Book Reviews for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Things Feel Different by Jessica Brezezinski is a book that every child of every age should read with their parents. Jessica brings up a very important topic that children are not liking the changes they have to face at school during Covid.

This book is dedicated to all of those challenged by the 2020 Global Pandemic.

Jessica beautifully shows not just tells by not only her storytelling but by her graphics as well. She is an incredible artist as you can see the story come to life via the pictures.

I was impressed with how the Mom explained to her in specific detail how the changes could be good. It was eye opening as I hadn’t even thought of what was suggested.
