Meet Me in the Treehouse

In their secret tree house, nine-year-old Emma and her best friend Chris made a promise: ‘You and me forever’.

It’s been five years since Emma left her hometown with her soon to be ex-husband and eight years since the tragedy that taught her and Chris that nothing lasts forever.

Now thirty, Emma is an unemployed nurse living back on her parents’ farm, her life in tatters. Chris, however, is finally healing and making a success of his family’s country estate.

They step into their old friendship as if it were yesterday, but as Emma sets out to rebuild her life, will their past and Chris’s future throw her further off balance?

Or will she find the happiness she left behind by returning to the treehouse?

Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Kelly Tink, Middlemist Publishing and Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

If you love second chance romances then Kelly Tink’s debut novel Meet Me in the Treehouse is for you. It is a sweet read with its share of drama and emotional rollercoaster moments.

The cover for Meet Me in the Treehouse is so cute and spot on for the meaning behind the story. The graphic designer did a great job getting the reader's attention.

Kelly dedicates this book to everyone who believed in and supported her.

I loved the bond Chris and Emma shared from when they were little kids. No matter what life threw at them they were always there for eachother.

The book is written in the past so we see the characters as kids and modern day.

Meet Me in the Treehouse touches on some difficult topics such as loss of a child, grief, suicide attempt, infidelity and divorce. There was a lot of heartbreak in this book and my heart went out to many characters for what they were dealing with.

In many aspects of the book I didn’t see it ending the way it did. Needless to say I was shocked and overwhelmed with how Kate ended it! I even teared up! The attention to detail in that scene was beautiful.

Even though it took the loss of Kelly’s own marriage for inspiration to write this book I am glad that she did. I hope that through writing this she was able to hear and put closure on that part of her life. It was an incredible book and she has a gift with her words. I hope she continues to write more books.
