 Things We Do For Love

Daisy Bach, a therapist, has always been certain that she did not want to have children. Her childhood experiences with an overbearing and controlling mother, Verity, who tore the family apart, further cemented this decision. However, at the age of forty-five, Daisy finds herself reconsidering this choice.

Unfortunately, her decision to try and conceive is complicated by her mother's diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. With strained family relationships, Daisy faces the daunting task of caring for her elderly parents while also attempting to conceive.

As she navigates this challenging time, Daisy is forced to confront her deep-seated resentment towards Verity. This journey leads her to re-evaluate her beliefs about motherhood, forgiveness, and the true meaning of a "happy" family. Will Daisy find a way to reconcile with her past and make peace with her present? Only time will tell.

Take him. Please forgive me. Cate grips the note with trembling hands, looking down at the delicate bundle on her doorstep. As she reaches down to the baby, she knows she has finally got everything she’s ever wished for. But is he hers to take?

Cate tries not to cry as she closes the door on the nursery room once again. All she has ever wanted is to be a mother. Cursed with a medical condition that means she is unable to have children, her only option is to wait for a call from the adoption centre. But that call feels like a lifetime away.

Then she hears a faint cry from outside her house. She’s convinced she’s imagining it, that the grief is starting to overwhelm her. But when she opens her door and looks down, her heart swells. By her feet is the most perfect baby curled up in a soft blanket.

As the newborn’s eyes light up, Cate feels instant love for him. She knows she can’t just accept a stranger’s baby – she has to call the police. But as she picks him up, it all finally feels right. This is where the baby belongs.

But when her darling baby is rushed into hospital, Cate knows that in order to save his life, she needs to expose the lie she has been so desperate to hide.
Can Cate discover who the child’s real mother is? And if so, will she be able to make the hardest decision of her life to protect the child?

An emotional story about family, secrets and what makes a good parent. Perfect for fans of Jodi Picoult, Jojo Moyes and Kate Hewitt.

The Baby Left Behind
Written By Jen Craven
Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Jen Craven, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

WOW!!! Ryan was so right about this storyline just like you see in the movies! Jen Craven’s latest book The Baby Left Behind will pull on all of your heart strings and thensome! Infact, it was a good thing I had tissues on hand as I needed them.

The Bookouture Graphic Designers have done it again! I was instantly drawn to the book cover! The colors, the scene, and the title made me want to know what this book was about!

Jen Craven grasped my attention right from the first two sentences from the Prologue! I was hooked as the scene was so detailed and descriptive that I felt like I was right there with them.

The ultimate question in this book is what would you do? I was not blessed to be a mother and can’t imagine how painful each of their decisions were! My heart broke for both girls in this situation. If I was put in the same situation I honestly don’t know what I would do!

My favorite character in this book had to be Ryan! I absolutely loved and adored his extremely outgoing personality! Loved how he was Cate’s rock though all of this!

Loved the royal’s reference as I have always been a huge fan!

The Baby Left Behind would be a great book for your next book club meeting! There are so many issues brought up in this book that would make great conversation.  Infact, Jenn at the end of the book has some great discussion questions.

I loved how she dedicated this book to all the mothers, want-to-be mothers, and the other mother’s who are doing their best!

The Family Guest by Nelle Lamarr

I’ve never met her before, but I know who she is. Because our new guest is the spitting image of the daughter I lost. Long blonde hair. Sparkling dark eyes. Perfect pearly-white teeth. And that’s exactly why I invited her into our home.

From the moment our exchange student
Tanya arrives, I feel like my daughter has come back to life. With her brown eyes and slender frame, she looks so much like Anabel that sometimes I can almost pretend she didn’t die in that tragic accident.

Tanya really is the perfect guest – kind, polite, and always happy to help me in the kitchen. At last, a member of the family who compliments my beautiful house and enjoys my homemade dinners. And when she asks questions about my life, I feel I’ve finally found someone I can confide in.

My younger teenage daughter,
Paige, isn’t so happy about our guest. She thinks it’s strange that Tanya looks like Anabel, and she hates it when she wears her sister’s old clothes. And now she’s convinced herself that Tanya isn’t who she says she is.

But I learnt a long time ago that it’s best not to ask questions you don’t want to know the answer to.

And while I’m growing suspicious that our new guest has a secret, I’m certain that it’s nothing in comparison to mine…

The absolutely unputdownable, page-turning and twisty psychological thriller that will have you guessing until the very last page. Perfect for readers who love gripping suspense and fans of Freida McFadden’s The HousemaidThe Girl on the Train and Colleen Hoover’s Verity.

The Family Guest
Written By Nelle Lamarr

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Nelle Lamarr, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

OH SNAP!!! This is one Family Guest you will NOT want staying with you! Nelle Lamarr’s The Family Guest is totally fast paced, addicting, wickedly twisted, suspenseful, jaw dropping moments, etc.

The Family Guest to me felt like multiple books rolled into one. Each character had an interesting storyline that intertwined with the main story.

Ohh there were so many emotions that just poured out of me while reading this book! Feelings of empathy, sadness, anger, disgust, yelling multiple times at my Kindle, etc. The Family Guest will take you on a wickedly intense rollercoaster ride that will leave you dumbfounded!

I loved the foreign exchange student storyline as you don’t that scenario played out. I often wondered how the other children in the house felt when someone new came to live with you. This book explored that question and thensome.

The bond between Paige and her brother William was priceless! I loved how they worked so well together to find out the truth!

The character in the book that shocked me the most had to be Matt! Ohh I was yelling and screaming at my Kindle over the man he turned out to be!

Matt was not the only one who had secrets! Oh no there were tons of characters keeping deep dark secrets and when they came out oh boy!!

Nelle sure kept you on your toes and guessing how the story would play out or end. I was not ready for that climatic ending!

I will admit there was a storyline with Bear the dog that was extremely hard to read. My heart just broke in two.

Have You Seen Her?

Written by Dea Poirier

Review by Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Dea Poirier, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Oh Snap!!! Hold on tight because Dea Poirier takes her readers on a totally addictive, thrilling, mind blowing, insanely intense roller coaster ride that will leave you stunned in her latest Have You Seen Her. Dea’s story is unlike any missing person book you have ever read! It is a storyline that is fresh, new, and totally outside of the box! This is a must read book that needs to be on the top of your TBR List!

Right from the start I was hooked on Dea’s book!  My mind was blown at how detailed Dea’s descriptions of events were. One event was so intense I was on the edge of my chair having a mini anxiety attack. I felt every emotion Blair was feeling like I was with her.

I felt connected to Blair who for years lived in her sister's shadow but at the end of the day would do anything for her! I feel many will be able to relate to her character in this regards.

If you know me I love all things pop culture. So, the fact that Eviana was a social influencer fascinated me! Dea took us into the good, bad, and ugly to the ins and outs of someone in the industry. A part of me made me think of the whole Britney Spears convership.

If you read closely you will find some insightful and meaningful messages within this storyline.

This is my first time reading this author but boy oh boy she hooked me on her work! I must read more of her stuff! Thank you to Bookouture for introducing me to her brilliant storyline.
