Zoey

Life doesn’t always go according to plan, a lesson I learned the hard way during my divorce. My first love returns home just in time to watch me pick up the pieces, and the moment I lay eyes on him every memory rushes back.

Jayson Lincoln, the man who still makes my heart beat fast, after all these years. But he's Doctor Lincoln now and I'm a far cry from the carefree girl he left behind.

I’m learning to navigate life as a single mother of twin girls and he’s reluctantly home to take over the family practice. We may be back in the same small town, but we’re still worlds apart.

I offer a book with deep themes for both kids and adults that features a watercolor illustration style you will not find anywhere else. It's called "The Boy Who Wanted to Be a Deer". And it can be summed up in one sentence --- "a fantastic and unusual story for both kids and adults about growing up with deep and dark fears". While the presentation style is aimed at 4-8 year olds, its themes of sociology, ostracization, and fear apply to all stages of life.

The Boy Who Wanted To Be A Deer

Written By Ember White

Illustrated By Marta Maskiewick

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank both Ember White and Marta Maziewski for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Ember White/s The Boy Who Wanted To Become A Deer is a great book for not only children but adults as well. It has so many great hidden messages and great lessons in the story.

Marta Maziewski’s graphics make this book come to life! They are so detailed, beautiful colors, and overall make the story pop! She definitely has talent.

My only issue with the book was it didn’t seem like the story had closure. I felt like it was open ended.
