Book Summary
Zoe knows that it wasn’t really her fault. Of course it wasn’t. But if she’d just grasped harder, run faster, lunged quicker, she might have saved him. And Edward doesn’t really blame her, though his bitter words at the time still haunt her, and he can no more take them back than she can halt the car that killed their son.
Two years on, every day is a tragedy. Edward knows they should take healing steps together, but he’s tired of being shut out. For Zoe, it just seems easier to let grief lead the way.
A weekend in Paris might be their last hope for reconciliation, but mischance sees them separated before they’ve even left Gare du Nord. Lost and alone, Edward and Zoe must try to find their way back to each other—and find their way back to the people they were before. But is that even possible?

Review by HeidiLynn's BookReviews
First, I would like to thank Lake Union Publishing, Leah Mercer, and NetGalley with providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Leah Mercer had me hooked on this book on the first sentence on the first paragraph on the first page of this book. My heart literally ached for Zoe who lost her child at such a young age. Not only that she felt it was her fault and blamed herself throughout the book.So many times, I wanted to reach out to her and give her a huge hug. This loss not only took an emotional toll on her but it distanced herself from her husband Edward as well.
This book had everything from loss of a child, miscarriage, miscommunication issues, trips to the hospital, heartbroken parents, trip to Paris, reunions, etc.
I had mixed feelings about Edward. My heart ached for him for losing his son and not being there when the accident happened. I also felt bad when he and Zoe were drifting apart as husband and wife. But what they needed the most was eachother. Their communication was off and so was their timing on everything.
One plus to the book is you get to see both sides of the story in Zoe’s and Edward’s side in present and past tense as well.
