About the Book:

It was supposed to save us. It destroyed us.

My husband,
Marcus, and I used to be so in love. But now, after ten years together, we barely talk. I’ve seen so many of our friends’ marriages end in divorce, and I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to stop that from happening to us.

And then I meet
Erin. She tells me all about her perfect marriage to Kieran, and I’m shocked when she reveals the secret to their marital bliss—they have an open marriage. My heart starts to race as I consider it for me and Marcus. Could we really do this?

When Marcus cautiously agrees, I know it can’t be with strangers, and so I call Erin. She tells me there is only one rule: complete honesty. But when I meet Kieran, it doesn’t take long for me to break that rule. Soon this isn’t an open marriage, but an affair.

As I start to fall for Kieran, Marcus becomes the attentive husband I’ve been craving, and I’m soon full of regret. This was all an awful mistake and I swear to end it. But my blood runs cold when Erin is reported missing. Who is this couple I’ve entangled our life with? And as the police knock on my door, it’s much more than just my marriage that is now at stake…

For fans of Lisa Jewell, Gone Girl and The Housemaid, this is a psychological thriller with a twist you’ll never see coming.

First, I want to thank Victoria Jenkins, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

WOW!! When I found out Victoria Jenkins wrote a book with the title The Open Marriage and read the description I just knew I had to read it. I mean how can you not with that title right? With the title The Open Marriage I was a little disappointed at the lack of spice. Many may not agree with me but that concept could have gone a little farther than it did.

If Louise said I’m fine one more time I was going to seriously scream!! She drove me absolutely bonkers!!

Victoria picked out the most unique out of the box names for her characters-I just loved them.

I enjoyed the book. It was fast paced, kept my attention, was a binge readable one sitting type book, and had a lot of wicked twists and turns to it. In fact the climax of the book I never in a million years saw coming. Oh so many ups and downs in this book!

Victoria should really consider writing a follow up book to this one as there are a few open ended storylines that can be explored. That would be a fun read as well.

Team Spirit

Team Spirit: a humorous take on tennis club turmoil

Everything seems straightforward enough with agreement reached for the tennis club to hold social events at the nearby Dream Café while the clubhouse is being rebuilt.

When Oliver Kilroy is forced to resign as club chairman after taking a bribe from the builder, Laurie, his young and inexperienced deputy, is left in charge of running the club. He accepts the post on condition that the attractive Helen is prepared to support him as the new deputy.

The pair are faced with an unprecedented run of challenges. The builder is failing to deliver on time. A player’s dubious line calls are infuriating opponents. The WhatsApp group has become a hotbed of slanderous gossip. A middle-aged flirt is antagonising the female members. And poor behaviour at the Dream Café is threatening the agreement.

Helen and Laurie are struggling to cope, though tennis club problems are a distant second for Helen as she attempts to start a relationship with Laurie. She’s sure he also wants that but something major is going on in his life to prevent progress. What is that something and can it be overcome?

The Woman at My Wedding by L.G. Davis

I’ve dreamed of this day forever. But will it be my last?

My stomach flutters as I try on my shimmering wedding dress with my two closest friends. In just a few weeks I’m going to marry the man of my dreams. I can’t believe the next time
Nathan sees me it’ll be when I walk down the aisle. I’ve never told him my real name, and I hate lying to him. But it’s for his own good, and nobody could love him more than me. I’ve been through so much; don’t I deserve this happiness?

As I’m gazing at my reflection in the mirror, there’s a knock on the door and when I open it my heart leaps into my throat. Right in front of me is
someone I hoped I’d never see again: my mother-in-law.

Nathan doesn’t speak to her, and the estrangement has been a huge relief to me. Because Debbie knows my secret. And she could ruin everything…

From the moment she sweeps in, it’s clear that if I don’t let my mother-in-law stay, she won’t stay quiet about my dark past. But
she has no idea how far I’ll go to stop her destroying everything I’ve worked for.

But when I realise my friends have been lying to me too, I wonder if my mother-in-law is really the person I need to worry about.
Is there another woman in my life who is determined not only to ruin my wedding, but to take my life?

An utterly heart-pounding and nail-biting new novel from bestseller L.G. Davis. This twisty, gasp-out-loud thriller is perfect for fans of Gone Girl, Teresa Driscoll and Freida McFadden.

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank LG Davis, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Oh Snap!! Another psychological thriller thanking my lucky stars I’m  and nowhere near ready to get married!!! LG Davis’s latest The Woman At My Wedding is incredibly twisted and will have your head spinning at the end of it. Oh and if you like this one just wait she has a follow up sequel to it as well. It is fast paced and an addictive read.

After the prologue each chapter will have you counting down the days to the big wedding. There are a lot of ups and downs and twists and turns trying to get to the alter. Not to mention some dark hidden secrets that are shockers when they come to light.

If you are looking for a book that has an unpredictable ending then this is it! Plus, if you liked this book she came out with a sequel to it as well. She gives us a little sneak peak of that in this book as well.

The Other Woman: A completely gripping psychological thriller with a heart-pounding twist

There are three of us in this marriage. One of us has to go…

David and I used to be the golden couple that everyone wanted to be. But as I sit in thedark corner of a crowded bar and watch his arm wrap around the waist of his beautiful younger colleague, Nina, my worst nightmare is confirmed: my husband is having an affair.

I swear to do whatever it takes to save my marriage. But when David doesn’t come home one evening, I drown my sorrows. I wake up with a pounding headache, no memory of the night before, and no idea where David is. As I desperately try to piece the night together, my blood runs cold when I hear the news that something awful has happened to Nina.

I have to find out the truth about what happened last night, even if that means betraying my husband. Because David isn’t the only one with secrets in this marriage, and I’ll do anything to stop mine from being discovered.

An utterly addictive and twisty read about obsession that will have you racing to the end! If you love Lisa Jewell, The Girl on the Train and Behind Closed Doors, you won’t be able to put this down!

Guilty
Written By Ruby Speechley
Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Ruby Speechley, Boldwood Books, NetGalley and Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

WOW!! Ruby Speechley has done it again creating an out of the box storyline in Guilty! This is one book I would love to know what was behind this twisted tale.

We start off the book learning some somber news of the main character that will have some effect one way or another on each of the characters in the book. What I thought was a great idea was that she wanted to get everyone together and host a celebration of life party. However, what she didn’t tell her guest is the reason for the party. So, you can imagine all the wild guesses as to why they were all there. Some of them were hilarious.

I loved how Heather was being so generous and thoughtful giving away mementos of hers to her friends that they have cherished for ages. However, they didn’t understand why.

What a great idea Heather had to write letters and cards to both her sons when she first got diagnosed with advice, how she met their Dad, etc. That would be so comforting to them once she was gone.

Secrets can be powerful and dangerous as can their confessions and that is just what happens in Guilty!
