A Driver’s Ed scandal. Family issues at home. V is on the case again, even if it’s just to get out of the house.
V is fifteen and can’t wait to learn how to drive. But her parents are too busy with their own problems to bother to teach her. So when a guy at school tells her about a new driver’s training course, she doesn’t hesitate to sign up, even if it sounds a little shady. A rash of break-ins hit the neighborhood, and the Driver’s Ed teacher seems to have something to do with it. V is asked to call on her novice detective skills once again.
Now that her mom’s cancer is in remission and her best friend is back, will V be able to live a normal teenage life? Or will she get in over her head, sucked into a case beyond anything she could possibly imagine?
Bright Stars picks up a year after Glass Stars, in the Chronicles of V, a young adult contemporary fiction series. If you like gutsy teen detectives, à la Veronica Mars or Nancy Drew, you’ll love Tasche Laine’s page-turning adventure.
