We swapped partners for one night. Just for fun. We thought we could handle it. We were wrong.

From the moment Seb and Tamsin moved in next door, I couldn’t look away. They’re everything Nate and I aren’t – glamorous, magnetic, intoxicating.

It started with drinks in the garden, shared meals, easy laughter. They made me feel seen again. Special.

And then comes the night that crosses a line.

It’s Tamsin’s idea. She leans in, eyes glinting. “We should swap. Partners. Just for the night.”

I should have said no. But I didn’t.

The next morning, I creep home full of guilt . . . and walk into something far worse.

There are no rules now. And not all of us will survive.

The Wife Swap

Written By Lisa Hall

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Lisa Hall, Joffe Books and Zooloo Book Tours for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

WOW!!! I was really looking forward to reading The Wife Swap by Lisa Hall!!! Instantly, I loved the cover. It grabbed my attention as many of her covers do. Lisa seemed to have creatively written an outside of the box storyline different from most of the rest. I have read a few of Lisa’s books in the past and have enjoyed them. So, I figured I would give this one a go.

However, I was disappointed and maybe it was just me but I was looking for some more spice/heat in the book. After all Lisa did title the book The Wife Swap. We did get an inside look into the one couple's interlude…but not the other one. The flirtation up to that point between the two characters was great but I just needed more.

If you can look past that and the fact that it is a very slow burn book (I prefer books where I am hooked instantly and can read it in one sitting) then this book may be for you. Lisa has a storyline full of unique characters full of creative names that have interesting careers. This is a story full of backstabbing, betrayal, deep routed secrets, and so many twists and turns.

For some reason I got very frustrated with some of the characters at the end of the book and found myself yelling at my Kindle.

The Wife Swap was not one of my favorite books I have read this year. However, just because I was not a fan of it doesn’t mean that you may not like it. Lisa Hall is a great writer who creates amazing stories! Give this one a chance.

Celeste left her sister behind. Now she’s coming home…

Dr. Celeste Monroe seems to have the perfect life—a thriving psychology practice, bestselling self-help books, and the respect of her peers.

But when patient Daniel St. Clair begins stalking her and releases doctored recordings of their sessions which go viral, Celeste's career crumbles overnight. As death threats flood in and her reputation disintegrates, she realises that what’s happening in the present may be linked to her own troubled past.

When Celeste was fourteen, her abusive mother was murdered. Celeste testified that her twin sister Leah was the killer and Leah was incarcerated in a mental institution.

Now, under intense scrutiny, Celeste’s past is coming back to haunt her. What really happened the night her mother died? Did Celeste know more than she said? Someone out there seems to think she did and now they’re threatening to destroy her.

As Celeste's world spirals and her memory begins to fracture, she must confront a terrifying question: What if the fugue states she's suffered since childhood have been hiding a truth far darker than she ever imagined?

DANG!!! Do you know that saying you can’t judge a book by it’s cover?! Well there is some truth to that!! Looking at the cover of The Other Sister by Theo Baxter you would think it would be a sweet innocent and fun read!! Oh just the opposite!!! This is one of his most in-depth, darkest, deepest, twisted, intense, mindblowing, heartbreaking, gripping, page turner that will keep you up all night!! Of all the books that Theo has written none has piqued my interest more than this one-meaning this is my ultimate fave of his. I sincerely hope he takes this writing style from this book and uses it into future books.

The Other Sister literally grabbed you through your Kindle and pulled you into the storyline and didn’t let you go til you found out til it ended!!! There were so many insane familial pieces to this story beginning with the Mother. Never in a million years have I read or met a woman like her in person. Nor could I fathom someone dreaming up a character like this woman! Which made me wonder how Theo came up with this character. She was sick and twisted and that storyline was just shocking.

The saying is always write about what you know. So, Theo put that theory to use with his character Celeste and she authored her own autobiography. Which bit her in the but down the line…

Oh there is so much I want to say about this book but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone!!!  Theo put so many dark twisted jaw dropping twists and turns that I never ever saw coming. Maybe you will but I didn’t. Seriously, you need to pick up this book, grab a beverage, clear your schedule and binge read it!! It is super good!! The Other Sister deserves way more than 5 stars!!

Natalie, it’s mum. You need to come home. It’s your father…’ Clutching the phone, my hands shaking, my entire world tilts. For years I’ve run from a family secret which threatened to devastate us all. But with my darling father’s life on the line, I have to face the truth, whatever the cost.

Bursting through the hospital doors, I see my mother and sister waiting in the corridor, worry etched on their faces. Over the years I’ve grown apart from my sister Victoria. She married young and started a family. I chose a different path. I had no choice but to leave so that the rest of my family could be happy.

Gathering at my father’s bedside, I clutch Victoria’s hand like we’re little again. As we start to share our memories of the fun and loving home he created, he leans towards us, uttering words which will turn our world upside down: ‘You mustn’t blame your mother. It was never her fault.’

Victoria reassures me that it must be the medication, that he doesn’t know what he is saying. But I do. Years ago, I thought our mother had betrayed us in the worst possible way. But looking at the stranger standing next to her, I know they are part of the lie my parents were so desperate to hide. The lie I ran from. But if I tell the truth of what I know, will it destroy our lives forever?

A totally gripping and heartbreaking read about devastating family secrets with the power to change everything you thought you knew. Perfect for fans of Jodi Picoult, Kate Hewitt and Diane Chamberlain.

The Lie She Told

Review by Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Emma Robinson, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you with this review.

Happy 2026 everyone!! I am starting out this year on a positive note with one of my favorite authors Emma Robinson and her latest The Lie She Told! She is one of the few authors that I will read anything from!! So when Bookouture or Emma says she is releasing a book I will jump on the tour. All of her books pull on my heartstrings and at times I can be found ugly crying during some scenes. I made sure I stocked up on tissues and cleared my schedule for the day!

The Lie She Told hit closer to home more so than any of the other books I read from her. In Emma’s book Doug (the Dad) has a heart attack and the family comes home to be there for him. My father a year ago became sick and eventually passed. Doug actually said a quote in the book that my Dad said a week before he passed with my sisters and my Mom around us.

My heart went out to the sisters who came home to see their Dad like this. I remember it like it was yesterday when my sisters and my nephew came home to see my Dad. It wasn’t easy.

I could totally relate to the two sisters in this book that were total opposites and also had different relationships with their parents.

The Lies She Told full fledged family drama packed deep routed secrets that will blow you away when all is revealed! This is a must read for your TBR this year!!
