Taken

I am accused of the worst of crimes – murdering my baby – and I have hours before this passenger ferry docks in Spain to find him, alive.

Someone knows about my difficult past and darkest secrets, and now I think they’ve taken my baby. But who would do this to me and why? I know the answer. Or least I think I do…

The police want to know why I have fled my home and husband. How do I tell them that I had a breakdown after my first baby died? That today is the anniversary of his death? That my husband is planning on having me sectioned?

Despite what my husband says, I’m not ill. Am I? For I have discovered he has an agenda…

So how could I have been so wrong about him?

And how do I convince the police I’m innocent, when everyone believes I’m guilty, and get my baby back before he disappears forever?

Pieces of Us

To move forward, I’ll have to look back to our past…

I know I have to get myself out of this funk, but it feels impossible. My childhood best friend is dead and nothing in life is working out as I’d planned.

Then Lottie leaves me a ‘jar of joy’ in her will – filled with instructions to visit places where we had our happiest memories. But with every happy memory, I also remember the things that tore us apart.

Because Lottie was keeping secrets. And Jay – the man we both loved – keeps turning up at the same places. Even as I feel pieces of myself begin to heal, some wounds run too deep.

It’s time to make a change in my life, but can Lottie’s jar of joy really give me the strength I need?

A heartbreaking yet hopeful novel for fans of PS I Love YouThe Memory of Us and The Last Letter from Your Lover.

I keep all her secrets. She thinks she can trust me…

Cecilia has it all. The house on the beach. The cute figure. The beautiful baby. But she’s a long way from perfect.

She’s let me into her gorgeous house as her nanny because now she’s on her own, she needs a little help with her baby daughter
Peyton. She barely notices me. But I see everything.

While Peyton naps, I rifle through her drawers and discover the dark secrets in her past, the threatening letter from her ex-husband.

It's a shame that Cecilia doesn’t have my powers of observation. If she took some time, she might just recognise me. I’ve been following her for a while, after all.

If she knew who I was then I don’t think I’d be so invisible. And she wouldn’t be so surprised one morning when little Peyton’s cot is found empty…

A completely gripping and unputdownable read that will have you turning pages deep into the night. Fans of Shari Lapena and Freida McFadden will be hooked by What the Nanny Saw.

Excerpt:

That’s the thing when you’re a nanny for an uber-rich family. They think they own you, every minute of your time, even if your contract says otherwise. They also raise their children to think they are in charge of you, not the other way around—especially once the children become teenagers. You’re the least powerful person in the household, sometimes even less valued than the pets. You’re only the nanny. Case in point, Kathie and Kimmie, ages 11 and 13, two of the four kids I’m taking care of for the Johnson family. I’m in the kitchen—lovely and spacious, with sunshine pouring in at large windows, a view of the Pacific Ocean sparkling in the distance, all the best high-end stainless-steel appliances—loading the dishwasher. It’s about 10 minutes before I leave the house to begin dropping the angels off for school. Jimmy, in third grade, is my favorite. He’s still young enough to be sweet, while his older brother Johnny, age 10, is slowly becoming his father. Not a good development, not at all.
