Everyone has secrets ...

When Ryan’s dying father gives him a sealed shoebox with instructions to open once he’s passed, Ryan can only speculate on what’s inside. The last thing he expects is for his father to shoot himself immediately afterward, or for the shoebox to contain ten thousand dollars cash.

But the money isn’t for Ryan; it’s for someone named Jamie Norton. When Ryan learns Jamie is an old friend of the family with a shady past, he looks to his mother for answers.

But he isn’t the only one looking.

Ryan thought he knew his parents. But the deeper he digs, the more he learns that some families will do whatever it takes to keep their secrets buried—no matter what the cost.

His Last Lie
Written By Erik Therme
Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Erik Therme, Thecker Books, and Zooloo Book Tours for providing this book so I can bring you this review.

Erik Therme’s His Last Lie was a creatively written story outside of the box that made for an interesting read. It was fast paced with a lot of ups, downs, twists, turns, etc.

WOW! Erik you started off this book with heartache and then BAM!! Out of nowhere that tragedy happens! Luckily I was with my Dad at the time and gave him a big hug and told him I loved him! I can’t imagine what Ryan was going through the shock, sadness and pain Ryan was going through!!

Ryan’s Dad left a shoebox full of money with a note saying to give it to Jamie. The huge mystery of the book was who was Jamie and why was he leaving them all this money?

I was kinda thrown off by the very strained relationship Ryan had with their Mother. They seemed like strangers.

The book was good, however it was not my favorite but I will say that he is a good storyteller.

The One That Got Away

What if the one who got away is really the one?

When Stella finds herself back home with a string of disastrous dates under her belt, she's certain she’s hit rock bottom. Until she discovers her mother has signed her up to The Love Hotel: a luxury matchmaking service where a perfect love match is guaranteed! Stella is adamant she'll have nothing to do with this nonsense! But then a match is found faster than she can say 'Not.A.Chance!' So, how bad can two weeks in the scorching Spanish sunshine be?

Very bad, actually. Because when Stella arrives, she’s mortified to learn her date is no perfect stranger. In fact she knows him a little too well. Because Max is the childhood sweetheart who broke her heart, who her heart remembers and who is more gorgeous than ever.

With no refunds, Stella reluctantly decides to stay and enjoy the holiday - all she has to do is keep Max at an arm’s length...right? Easier said than done when Max is impossible to ignore. And as the Love Hotel begins to work its matchmaking magic, Stella can't deny that the sparks still sizzle between them. And maybe, the experts were right afterall...

The One That Got Away

Written By Olivia Spring

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Olivia Spring, Boldwood Books, and Rachels’s Random Resources for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

WOWZERS!!! Olivia Spring spices things up in The One That Got Away!! Ohh those naughty scenes she wrote were extremely juicy!! This is a whole new side of Olivia we had not seen before-and I loved it. She has a true gift writing like this and I hope she writes more like this.

I loved the cover design designed by Rachel Lawson the graphics were fun and represented the book well.

If you are looking for a fast paced, addictive, fun, sexy, easy read then you need to put this on your tbr list.

Ohh Olivia you naughty girl you! I was not expecting the book to start out the way it did!! I had an evil smile on my face and a little chuckle as I was reading it! I should mention I was reading this while taking my Dad to a medical appt. So…It was a little awkward.

The relationship that Stella had with her Mom I felt was so incredibly special. You don’t see many Mother Daughter bonds like this written in books.

This has a little bit of everything from rom com, second chance romance, hott steamy sex, and a lot of twists and turns nobody saw coming!

Back in the day I used to love making mix tapes. In this book Stella and Max were asked to make mix tapes for eachother with songs of how they were feeling for eachother during that day. I am a huge fan of 80’s and 90’s and they picked some amazing songs including one of my favorite bands NSYNC!

Sitting at the edge of the loch, Tara clutches her heart-shaped pendant as the sunset turns the sky pink. The person who gave it to her once danced with her on the shore. But then he left for good. And now she can never share her secret…

Tara Ballantyne hasn’t been home to Loch Cameron since her childhood sweetheart and fiancé Ramsay Fraser suddenly broke her heart. She’s certain the secret she’s kept ever since is why he left without saying goodbye. But when her mother Dotty has a fall, Tara knows she must return to help her family with their guesthouse.

Dotty has never been able to understand why Tara left the village in the first place. And on an errand for her mother at the local farmer’s market after another row,
Tara is stunned when she runs into Ramsay. His deep, achingly familiar voice sends butterflies spinning through her stomach as they make plans to catch up. Could now be the moment to tell him her secret?

Then Tara sees Ramsay holding the hand of a little girl with a crooked smile just like his. Even if Ramsay still holds on to the other half of Tara’s gold pendant, it looks like he’s moved on for good. And she still can’t confess what she did all those years ago…

But seeing Ramsay again makes her mother light up, and Tara realises Dotty has missed him too. And as she comes to understand her mother more than ever before, Tara wonders if she’s been running away for all the wrong reasons.
Will Ramsay always be the one who got away? Or if Tara finally opens up, will she find happiness in the village?

Escape to the Scottish Highlands in this emotional, page-turning second chance romance by USA Today bestselling author Kennedy Kerr! Fans of Debbie Macomber, Rachel Hanna and Mary Alice Monroe will adore it.

Kennedy Kerr is a USA Today Bestselling fiction author. She adores beaches, lochs and stone circles, and loves writing about small communities, mysteries and family secrets. She has a very cuddly cat called Twinkle who spends her days sleeping: Kennedy aspires to having Twinkle's nap schedule one day.

Kennedy also loves cooking and baking all types of food, which is almost as much fun as eating it. Her favourite foods include (but are not limited to) Indian food, Victoria sponge, breakfast pastries with coffee and sushi. The only thing she's not particularly keen on is artichoke, and she'd eat it, anyway.
