My sister is dead. Did I marry her killer?

The moment I first gazed into Alex’s soulful gray eyes, I knew I’d met the man I wanted to spend my life with.

When my beloved sister vanished, Alex put up posters and wiped away my tears after bad dreams. He put me back together, and I’m so glad I married such a good man.

But when police find my darling sister dead and pull a crumpled photo from her pocket, my world falls apart.
In the faded image, I see my husband’s familiar face smiling back at me, his arm around my sweet sister.

Alex told me they’d never met. The picture was taken in the café where she was last seen.
So why was he with her the day she died? And now I’ve uncovered the truth, I wonder if I’m next…

My Perfect Husband
Written by Georgina Cross
Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Georgia Cross, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing this book for me so I can bring you this review.

WOW!!! Georgina Cross you have me wanting to jump in my car and travel to Pittsburgh just to give my sister a big ol hug!! My Perfect Husband is an emotionally driven, fast paced, totally addictive read that I devoured in one sitting! It is one of Georgina’s best right up there with Nanny Needed! This deserves way more than 5 stars and should be put on your TBR list!

I can’t even begin to imagine the emotional and mental pain that Lauren went through when her sister Ellie went missing. Not to mention always dreading that call where one day you will find out the fate of your sister! I put myself into her shoes and felt every emotion she was going through! I just wanted to jump into the book and pull her into a hug.

Where are the tissues when I need them? My heart broke even more when Lauren had to go to the nursing facility and break the news to her elderly father. I actually started tearing up during some of their scenes.

One thing I found interesting was the section about the flowers, the color and their meaning.

My Perfect Husband is an incredible story that will blow your mind! There are so many shock worthy moments, wicked twists and turns, and you will question everything you know about someone.

Old Girls Behaving Badly

A delightfully heartwarming and funny story that proves it's never too late to change the habits of a lifetime, perfect for fans of Judy Leigh, Hazel Prior and Maddie Please.

Something old, something new, something stolen…?

Gina Knight is looking forward to the prospect of retirement with her husband of forty-three years. Until, to her surprise, said husband decides he needs to 'find himself' – alone – and disappears to Santa Fe, leaving divorce papers in his wake.

Now Gina needs a new role in life, not to mention somewhere to live, so she applies for the position of Companion to elderly Dorothy Reed. At eighty-three, ‘Dot’ needs someone to help her around the house – or at least, her family seems to think so. Her companion’s first role would be to accompany Dot for a week-long extravagant wedding party.

But when Georgina arrives at the large Norfolk estate where the wedding will take place, she quickly discovers Dot has an ulterior motive for hiring her. While the other guests are busy sipping champagne and playing croquet, Dot needs Georgina to help her solve a mystery – about a missing painting, which she believes is hidden somewhere in the house.

Because, after all, who would suspect two old ladies of getting up to mischief?

Old Girls Behaving Badly

Written By Kate Galley

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Kate Galley, Boldwood Books and Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Oh I knew this was going to be a fun easy read when I saw the title of Kate Galley’s book Old Girls Behaving Badly! I had never read anything by Kate Galley before so I was not sure what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised.

The beginning of this book was very unique as it was a help wanted ad for a caregiver for a week at a wedding. That instantly caught my attention and made me want to read on.

I loved and appreciated how Gina accepted her son Chris’s sexuality and his marriage to Gavin. Unlike his father Douglas who couldn’t comprehend the concept of love is love.

Speaking of Douglas he was totally shady on the way he broke off his marriage to Gina. He was not one of my favorite characters.

Within Old Girls Behaving Badly a mystery was to be solved of where Dorothy’s late husband's painting went.

Vera Bitter is dead, but her secrets have yet to be buried.

After the tragic death of Bridget’s parents, her grandmother took her in. Vera Bitter raised her from behind a closed door—cold and uncaring from the moment she arrived at Bitter House. After Bridget’s high school graduation, Vera kicked her out without so much as a goodbye, and Bridget never heard from her again. Which is why, when she receives word of Vera’s passing and discovers she’s inherited the family manor, she’s immediately filled with dread.

Those worries are amplified when she arrives at Bitter House after years away to find an enigmatic piece of her past waiting for her. Growing up, there was only one person Bridget distrusted more than her grandmother, and that was Cole Warner—the son of Vera’s house manager and the bane of her childhood existence. Now, he’s her new housemate.

Owning the house she was once forced to leave with a man she’s always despised forces Bridget to confront feelings and questions she’s been running from since the day she was driven away from Bitter House.

Then the first letter arrives.

And with it, a world of secrets, darkness, and deception is unlocked. Years ago, Bridget tried and failed to find sanctuary inside the shadowy halls of Bitter House, and as she struggles to imagine a future there now, she discovers a terrifying truth: behind the iron gate and stone walls of the old estate, nothing is quite what it seems. Bitter House has secrets and, if she can’t decide whom to trust, danger lies in wait.

From million-copy bestselling author Kiersten Modglin comes a bone-chilling, compulsively page-turning, and achingly addictive thriller set within the walls of a mysterious old manor with a sinister secret.

Bitter House
Written By Kiersten Modglin
Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Kiersten Modglin for providing me with the book so I can bring you this review.

OMG!!! Fans of Kiersten Modglin Reunion will absolutely LOVE Bitter House!! It is my newest ultimate favorite book Kiersten has written to date! I know I have said that in the past but this time I mean it!! Bitter House deserves more than 5 stars!!  Only Kiersten can mix it up by taking her readers on a scavenger hunt to find the truth! You are going to run out and pick this up and add it to your TBR list!!

Let’s talk about how creepy the cover graphics are!! That alone with the title Bitter House makes you wonder what the book is about.

Bitter House was written with so much creepy details that I felt like I was watching a movie on Netflix. One that I would stay up all hours of the night and binge watch! Yes, this needs to be made into a Netflix series!!

Kiersten took me by surprise and introduced us to Vera Bitter but in the form of an obituary. I will say it was quite the hook that got me interested in the book. It was something different and unique.

Bitterhouse is a totally fast paced, addictive and suspenseful read that can be devoured in one sitting. Its focus is on family, deep dark painful secrets, who you can trust and heartbreaking revelations.

What is different about this book is that along with the mystery involved there is a beautifully written love story thrown into the mix. The heat was just enough and not overbearing. I loved that she added this storyline into the mix!
