Never trust a stranger…
But, late at night and trapped in the middle of nowhere during a terrible snowstorm, Tibby and Walker have no choice.

With roads shutting down and cell towers out, running into each other and deciding to travel together could either be their saving grace or worst mistake. When they’re forced to take an unexpected detour and seek refuge in a roadside motel, the storm quickly becomes the least of their worries.

A disturbing discovery in the motel, the questionable actions of the mysterious owner and fellow guests, and a news report about a missing couple in the area set the scene for a terrifying night, but the worst is yet to come.

Each stranger holds a secret…but which one should be trusted?

From million-copy bestselling author Kiersten Modglin comes a fast-paced, heart-pounding thriller filled with secrets, lies, and hairpin twists and turns as dangerous as the icy roads the story is set upon.

Ask Kiersten… A’s for all your Q’s

Q: What’s the hardest part for you while writing?

Description, dialogue, actions scenes, etc?

A: Description for sure! I’m not a visual writer or reader, so it’s very hard for me to write description. That’s why my books tend to be very dialogue heavy. It’s my favorite part of stories and I think you can learn so much about the characters through dialogue! If I’m ever describing something like a house, outfit, or character, I will always look up that thing and write what I’m actually looking at. I can’t make those descriptions come from my imagination no matter how hard I try! I’m very guilty of writing scenes that are entirely dialogue and having to go in and fill them in later. And when I read, sometimes I skim over description and go straight for the dialogue because I just can’t picture it!

Q: What is your opinion of the young adult literature of this generation and maybe even from your generation?  I have always been saddened that the books taught and encouraged today are based so much in fantasy.

A: To be honest, I don’t know very much about the young adult novels that are popular right now as it’s not my preferred genre to read, but I grew up reading every ghost and fantasy story out there. Personally, I think as long as kids are reading, I hope it’s just encouraged that they keep at it and I think they should be able to explore different genres to see what interests them! Imagination is everything! I know I struggled to read a lot of the “classic” books we were assigned in school and until I had a teacher who gave us plenty of options so we could find one that interested us most. If the classic books we were being assigned had been my first introduction to reading, I’m not sure I’d be a reader today. It was only because I’d already read so many books I loved that I knew the ones we were reading just weren’t the right ones for me. So my advice to anyone, but kids especially, is to read widely until you find what works for you!

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Kiersten Modglin for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

BRRR!!! Grab yourself a warm blanket and hot cup of coco because Kiersten Modglin is going to give you the chills in The Stranger!!

Even though I may be from Buffalo, NY where we just had back to back snow storms I hate winter with a passion!! Yes, I know I live here but I don’t have to like the bad weather conditions! That is why it was boggling my mind why in the world Tibby would be walking all alone in those conditions. Kiersten made the scenes so realistic I felt I was there with her!

This book is all about trust and who you can really trust. Kiersten elaborates on her feelings about this subject. For me trust is earned not given. However, Tibby was caught in quite the dilemma to trust her gut instinct or take a chance.

The Stranger is a fast paced quick read that can be devoured in one sitting. Kiersten throws us readers a lot of wicked curve balls but in this case snowballs. Many twists, turns and shocking moments you won’t see coming.

The Stranger is another must read from Kiersten that needs to be put on your TBR list.
