Santa’s Early Christmas

Written by Lily Lawson

Illustrated by Gustyawan

Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Lily Lawson, Gustyawan, and Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!! Lily Lawson and Gustyawan both had me laughing out loud reading Santa’s Early Christmas! Both the storyline and the graphics were adorable. Infact, now I am craving my favorite Christmas goodies.

Santa sure did love his mince pies!! That stood out to me as my father is the only one in my family who likes mincemeat pies! So I usually buy him his own just for him! So now he and Santa have something in common!

We promised to keep each other’s secrets. Until they found the body…
The Wife:
My husband and I are fighting for our lives in hospital after a terrible car accident. But despite my pain, all I can think about is what our families will find behind our front door. The scarf that has been all over the news, belonging to a dead young woman with honey-coloured hair.
I have to speak to the police before my husband can…
The Husband:
I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me. I know I’ve got a temper. That I’ve not always been faithful.
Will they think I killed her?
I think of my wife’s jealous streak, of the lies she’s told our loved ones. But if I tell the whole truth, they’ll look into her past. And that will destroy me, too…
Two people fighting for their lives. Two people with secrets to hide. Who will you believe?
A completely compelling and twisty page-turner from number 1 bestselling author K.L. Slater. Fans of Lisa Jewell and Freida McFadden will be hooked by Husband and Wife.

First, I want to thank K.L. Slater, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

WOW!! It has been a while since I have read one of K.L. Slater’s psychological thrillers and forgot how much I enjoyed them! This time around she is back with her latest Husband and Wife! This book was fast paced, addicting, thrilling, twisted and at points shocking!

She put a smile on my face as she thanked all of her bloggers and reviewers for supporting authors.

Husband and Wife is an addicting fast paced read that if you blink you will miss something. I say this because the story line jumps from past to present in the blink of an eye. It took me a little bit to adjust to that.

I adored the names of the characters she came up with as they were unique.

K.L. Hooked me with the description in the prologue of Sarah’s strange night out. K.L. Really put a lot of details to her description and I loved it.

Ohh the secrets and the twists and turns of this book was intense!

Sarah loves her only son. She’s pretty sure he could never kill anyone.

When Sarah’s son, Andrew, calls her at work and begs her to come home immediately, she fears he’s being bullied again. But it’s so much worse than that.

Because when Andrew got back from summer camp, he found thirteen-year-old Hal English in their garage.

Dead. With no plausible explanation as to how he got there.

To make matters worse, Hal was one of the kids bullying Andrew at school and just recently they had a fistfight. And Andrew has a reputation for being impulsive and quick to anger.

As much as she loves him, as much as she wants to believe he is innocent, Sarah has to admit that Andrew looks guilty.

But she knows one thing for sure – no matter what she has to do, what risks she has to take, she will do anything to protect her only son.

Brian R. O’Rourke has been writing stories since he was eight years old. A lifelong, avid reader, Brian believes that fiction has the power to change the world. He enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, playing the violin, and golfing.

The Only Son
Written By Brian R. O’Rourke
Review By Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews

First, I want to thank Brian R. O’Rourke, Inkubator Books and Zooloo’s Book Tours for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

OMG!! The Only Son by Brian R. O’Rourke totally rocked me to the core!! How far would you go to protect your child and your own family?! This is a book that will leave you completely speechless as your jaw will be on the floor throughout the whole book. Brian’s first psychological thriller The Perfect Husband was good but DANG The Only Son brings his storytelling to a whole new level! Brian has a gift in this genre! I highly suggest you run out and get it and put it on our tbr list!

The Only Son is intensely fast paced. If you blink you will miss a wicked curveball he sends your way! Once you start reading it you can’t put it down! There is just so many different angles and directions this story goes into you will want to know the answers!!!

Brian addresses some very important life issues and topics that would make a great discussion at your next book club meeting. For me personally I wanted to hop into the book and give Andrew a hug for what he had to deal with.

From start to finish this book played out like a movie! The writing was just so detailed, intense, pulled on your emotions, etc. I can’t say enough good things about this book and wonder how he will top the next one?
