Review: Forbidden Cure Part One: Duplicity by William Rubin

Author William Rubin

First, I want to thank William Rubin for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Forbidden Cure Part One: Duplicity by William Rubin is just a part of the whole novel that is coming out in short sections every few months instead of a huge book all at once.  This book was an incredibly fast paced medically charged drama that had you at the edge of your seats. I love a good medical drama with mystery attached and this satisfied my craving. Having read William Rubin’s work prior I knew I was in for a treat.

Right from the prologue William gets the readers attention. From that moment on you need to know what is going on.

My heart ached for Chris whom just lost his Mother and his wife. Now he is sick and wanting to try this experimental drug that is very risky. His Dad is very worried about him taking this. He has every right to be-he doesn’t want to loose him as well.

Other stories in the book of individuals and their medical ailments will just rock you to your core as well like Irina Malekoviec a Concert Pianist.

William Rubin does an incredible job with describing all things medically related with the terminology. He keeps us at the edge of our seats wondering what will happen next.

What I found fascinating since I love all things medical is the ani-malaria medication Hyslop that was introduced in 1940’s that was the last line of defense of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I am big fans of the names Grayson, Kiki, and Dmitri  that were in the book.

William Rubin himself not only Is an very talented author but is an practicing physician. So it makes perfect sense that he intertwines his love for medical/scientific into his works.

Unfortunately, the untimely death of William Rubin’s mother, provided some of the conflict, underlying drama, and turmoil to the series lead characters. As I always say write what you know and are passionate about and it will come out in your writing. The readers will feel it.

Review: The Chaplain: Book 2 Surrender for Love By Lynn Hammond

Author Lynn Hammond

First, I want to thank Lynn Hammond for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Warning you that you will definitely need a lot of tissues for this emotional roller coaster ride in The Chaplain: Book 2 Surrender for Love by Lynn Hammond. This book must be read as a part of the series and not as a standalone so you can get a good feel of the storyline and characters. You will see the return of Linkin, Sophia, and Malcom. I thought the last book was good. WOW! She outdid herself on this one! This one is full of emotions and totally pulled on all of my heart strings for so many reasons why!

Immediately, you are brought into the story in a shocking way! That first page had me hooked! I had to find out what happened to Darcy! I was not going to end the book til I knew how it all played out. Believe me when I say with all the twist and turns in this book-I DID NOT see that ending coming!!!

One thing I commend about Lynn’s writing is she definitely writes from the heart, has a passion for her characters, and her storylines she writes about. You can tell by the way she describes events, actions of her characters, the emotions behind the characters, and the details of the storylines. She makes you feel compassion for what the characters are going through. For me there were times when I would I was so happy for Darcy that I would be smiling ear to ear. Other times I would be bawling my eyes out because life is not fair.

Emma is the cutest little girl ever and melted my heart in the story! The way she could not say Linkin so she said link. She called Malcom Mal. Sweetest kid ever who loved her Mama!

Review: Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage

Author
Zoje Stage
#NetGalley

First, I want to thank Zoje Stage, St. Martin’s New York and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage had me very interested in this for many different reasons. First off the author mentioned she worked part time at the Monroe County Library in Rochester, NY where she started writing novels. I used to live in Rochester, NY and frequented that library. Learning this about the author made me more intrigued to read the book.

Hannah was a very unique character one which I had never experienced before in any other book. At first you feel sorry for the sweet girl because she mute. But as the story goes on she is not that sweet and innocent girl you think she is.

Suzette the Mom pulled on my heart strings a little bit. Hannah did not give her Mom the easiest time when she would homeschool her. Plus, the stress was not good on Suzette’s Chr disorder.

Alex the father was caught in the middle of both his wife and his daughter whom he loved dearly.

If you like mystery, thrillers, twists and turns this is the book for you!!

Review: To Kiss a Cowboy Hunks and Horses Book 1 by Maggie Carpenter

Author
Maggie Carpenter

#CandidBookReview
First, I want to thank Maggie Carpenter for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

To Kiss A Cowboy Hunks and Horses Book 1 By Maggie Carpenter drew me in by the amazing cover of the horse and the incredibly sexy cowboy. I also loved the font choice. Kudos to the graphic designer Rebecca Hamilton on this book.  I am a fan of Maggie Carpenter and she knows I love reading about her cowboys!! She did not disappoint in this book! In fact in this book along with the sexy cowboys, the amazing sex scenes, the little torn love triangle, she throws in a little scandal that totally shocked not only me but the characters as well. This aspect of the story made it a little more interesting to say the least.

There was an interesting situation in the book where Connie was engaged to Jerry but something just seemed so off between them two. Then Connie met Caleb and sparks flew more than they ever did with Jerry. Wait till you learn about Jerry’s true colors. It will shock you beyond anything you ever thought of happening in this book. It actually is the climax of the book.

As always Maggie turns me on as she turns up the heat with the sex scenes!! She is very graphic and it is like you are there watching. It is very hot!

I loved the setting of this book at Dream Horse Ranch, full of cowboys and horses. It would definitely be a destination I would go visit!

This is part of a series that I would definitely continue to read.

Review:Broken Reality by Robert Kaufman

Review
A Broken Reality

First, I want to thank Rob Kaufman and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

If you are a parent you are going to want to hold your child a little closer tonight after reading this book. Rob Kaufman’s A Broken Reality is an incredibly chilling, shocking, intense, emotionally painful, heart wrenching novel about a missing boy out in a middle of a winter storm. This book is filled with secrets, stalkers, abductors, vandalism, threats, missing persons, investigations, extremely worried parents, etc.

Rob did an incredible job throwing you into the craziness of the story! This hooked me so fast onto the story! A missing child in the middle of a snow storm and you are trying not to get into an accident yourself. How exciting yet scary is that! Every parent worst nightmare come true!!! For the first part of the book I was on the edge of my seat!!!

One amazing aspect about Rob’s writing is his eye for bringing out the detailed emotions in his characters. I was overwhelmed by that. I could feel exactly what each character was feeling and how much they were suffering. I am not a parent but I could not imagine if that was my child out there in those weather conditions. Not knowing where he is! Not knowing if he is safe, if someone has him, if someone hit him, etc! His mom had not heard from him for weeks and thinking the worst! My heart went out to her! We as readers needed to feel the emotions she was going through. Rob was the king of that!

On the subject of Jesse there was one scene where I wanted to scream at Melissa I was so upset with her!! Of course, Jesse was withdrawn, he lost weight, he was worried about Danny, he was not himself emotionally or mentally. Danny was missing! Jesse was in an accident himself. He couldn’t find Danny. He didn’t know if he was dead or alive. That would all take a toll on someone! Melissa didn’t get that.

Review: Wiley Johns Heartbreak & Heroes Book Six by Ciana Stone

Author Ciana Stone
#CandidBookReview
First, I want to thank Ciana Stone for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

I have found a new Book Couple not just a new Boyfriend in Ciana Stone’s new book Wiley Johns Heartbreak & Hero’s Book Six!! Yes!! Wiley and Molly are my new fave couple of any of her books!! Both of them had amazing personalities that were off the charts sassy, funny and omg flirtatious!! Wiley just oozed sex appeal and you could see that on the cover of the book! But you could just tell by the way he acted and the way Molly was around him. Those two together made me smile ear to ear. You could not help love them together!

As with any of her books you need to read these in order or you wont know what is going on in the book. You will see familiar faces and get updates on former characters. One update I was very excited about!

This book had me cracking up laughing deviously!! Ciana had sayings like “Forget the horse and cowboy,” “There’s dirty then there’s dirty,” “It’s only kinky the first time.”

This book had a lot of sexual tones to it! I could definitely see myself hanging out with Molly and Wiley! They are definitely my kind of people! Heck, she does product testing and reviews sex toys!! Maybe I am in the wrong line of work reviewing books lmao!!

My heart melted when Molly’s daughter asked Wiley to be her and her Mommy’s hero! When you read the book you will understand why this is such a pivotal scene in the book. I started tearing up when she said this to him.

Seeing these two together and then with Kaylee makes me hate being single!!! I want a man like Wiley!!!

Review:Matter of Trust Ciana Stone

#CandidBookReviews
First, I would like to thank Ciana Stone for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

A Matter of Trust by Ciana Stone was unlike any of her other books I have read in the past. I am a huge fan of her mystery series as well as her HeartBreakers and Hero Series. However, not big into paranormal so much-but I thought I would give it a try since I love her other work. She actually surprised me with a unique paranormal twist that was not too far out there!

One of my favorite characters in the book had to be Maxwell. My heart went out to him on so many levels. For so much of the book he was such a mystery as to what was wrong with him.  His family treated him like he was a mentally disabled child but yet he was a full grown very handsome man. A man whom felt trapped and was not able to be the person he wanted to be. It wasn’t till he met Nikki that he might be able to be himself.

The unique paranormal spin that I liked was that Nikki had sexual dreams of this man she had never met before and didn’t know whom it was. It wasn’t until she met Maxwell that she knew he was the man in her dreams. Little did she know he was having the same dreams but about her. They had never met before but in their dreams. In a weird way they were meant to be together but put together in a unique way.

There is a lot of criminal stuff, murder, mystery as well that is in the book too.

Review: Given New Worlds Rachael Sircar

BIG NEWS! My novels are now available in a REAL store. https://www.facebook.com/CreativeCollaborationsBoutique/
You absolutely must stop by. It's right off of I-95 and 210. Even if you don't stop by to purchase one of my novels, be sure to check out their fabulous collection. I could spend hours shopping in this boutique!

First, I want to thank Rachael Sircar for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review. I also would like to thank Melissa Storm for referring her to me.

Given New Worlds has been the 124th book I have read and reviewed in 2018. Rachael Sircar’s book is the most powerful book I have read to date that will stick with me for a long time. Once you start reading this book it takes you in one direction and you end up In a totally different direction. Once you hit that midway point you CAN’T put it down!! Rachael Sircar not only is my new favorite author but this is sure to be a best seller! I can also see this book as star-studded block buster hit in theatres!

Given New Worlds has something for everyone that it couldn’t be put into just one genre. Yes, it is faith based but it is so much more to that. It is a love story but this is no way shape or form like a Nicholas Sparks book. Yes, there is a reference to my favorite book by him A Walk to Remember and Jamie. This book has glitz, glamour of Hollywood, the reproductions of what it is like to be in the limelight, tragedy, secrets of the past, suspenseful, mysterious, on the edge of your seat nail biting moments, you will be taken on journeys to different countries,  criminal stuff your heart strings will be pulled into directions, you will need tissues as at many times I cried, there are incredibly shocking moments in the book, there will be times when you will despise many characters in the book, there will be times when even if you don’t pray you will want to pray for the characters.

A warning to readers there is a lot of graphic violence in this book on many separate occasions. This violence effects Abby and Sean mentally, emotionally and physically. This is a huge part of the storyline. To some it may be ok to stomach. However, to others that have been stalked, harassed, tied up, their body mutilated, and wanting revenge and didn’t care who they hurt to get it-this may not be the book for you. Like I said-this is an extremely powerful book-one that will stay with you for a long time coming.
I absolutely loved this book. It had everything I could ask for in a book the romance (although at times I wanted to scream are they ever going to get together), the mystery and suspense was off the charts (I LOVE mystery books so this was above my expectations), and I do love faith-based books. This was not over powering but just right. Given the situations they were in I would be praying to God too.

One thing I strongly feel about this book was the fact that it was a little lengthy and the subject matter would be to make it two books. Have the first part getting to know eachother, build up the romance, and then when they start dating and he really finds out who she is, and the real story begins then end the first book. The second book is where the real story would begin.

Abby is an incredibly strong woman whom was faced with so many incredible challenges in this book. Many womn would have just given up and thrown in the towel and surrendered to them all. Not Abby! She was a fighter! She kept getting up and fighting. Every single year on her Birthday! She kept fighting! She is a female role model in this book to many women!

One major aspect you will learn in this book or at least I did was how strong the power of love is. No matter where Abby or Sean were in their lives, no matter what trauma was put on them, they were always in eachother’s heart. They always found a way to come back to eachother and became stronger for what they went through together. What they shared was true love. Through thick and thin Sean was always there for Abby. I really hope Rachael does a follow up book to update us on how they are doing after they are both done healing emotionally and mentally.

This book gets a 10-star rating from me!!!

Review: Bullied to Death: A Story of Bullying, Social Media, and The Suicide of Sherokee Harriman by Judiith A. Yates

Author Judith A. Yates

http://www.judithayates.com/index.html

First, I want to thank Judith A. Yates, Wild Blue Press and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Bullied to Death? A Story of Bullying, Social Media, And the Suicide of Sherokee Harriman by Judith A. Yates is an incredibly powerful, eye opening book, of how hateful verbal bullying effects someone emotionally, self-esteam, mentally and eventually to the point of doing harm to themselves. This is a book EVERY Parent, Uncle, Aunt, Health Teachers, Social Workers must read to understand our youth today and help if we see bullying happen.

Kudos to Elijah Toten for the incredible book cover design. That is what originally drew me to the book itself. After seeing the tile of the book and the blurb I knew I had to read it. I am a huge fan of true crime books and this seemed like it was literally ripped from the headlines. Plus, as a middle schooler and high schooler I was bullied at school for being born differently. However, never in a million years would I think of ever doing what Sherokee did!

Review: It's All Your Fault by J.C. Lewin #NetGalley

#NetGalley
First, I want to thank J.C. Lewin, BE, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

An Incredibly gripping debut novel from J.C. Lewin in All Your Fault! A book that had so many twists, turns and an ending you never saw coming! It is a book you will start and won’t want to put down til you see what happens to Teigan! Trust me on this one I was up til wee hours of the night reading this book!

This book tackles tough subjects like missing children, pedophile, murder, abduction, problems within social services, domestic abuse, suicide. For this reason, this book was emotional on many levels and you felt for so many of the characters.

There was an extremely interesting scene in the book with Monty explaining about his thoughts on Pedophilia.  Even though I don’t agree with it at all. He did have a point if you knew your child had the gene would you abort your child?

This is a story of every mother’s nightmare where their child goes missing. Where she goes to great lengths to find out what happens to her. However, she is one of the suspects in the case. Plus, she is a social worker with failed cases.

I loved the investigation aspect of the book. Trying to figure out what actually happened to Tiegan! I absolutely love books like this!

At the end of the book there is a chat with the author J. C. Lewin. She like Suzanne in the book is a social worker. However, she quit her job to be a writer as that was her dream!

In the chat with the author section she mentions that her favorite character was Monty. You can totally tell that she put her heart and soul into this character. I can agree with her that there is a challenge to the reader and their preconceptions. Monty seems like a monster at first. But you have to dig deeper into him and his character. His end fate is sad though.

This is an AMAZING book by an incredible author! This is a must-read book for those who like very gripping suspenseful books! You will be biting your nails and on the edge of your seat with this one.  Plus, hugging your loved ones a little closer!
