Breaking Free From Pain
From Suffering To Strength: My Own Personal Journey With Fibromyalgia and Healing Modalities
Written By Shari Emami, H.H.P
First, I want to thank Shari Emami, H.H.P for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.
I commend Shari Emami, H.H.P for opening up and sharing her ups and downs in her medical memoir Breaking Free From Pain From Suffering To Strength: My Own Personal Journey with Fibromyalgia and Healing Modalities. Shari’s book is a quick read jam packed with medical facts, terminology, tips and tricks that worked for her, and we get an inside look of how she coped with the disorder.
I will say this about Shari; she is extremely motivated and determined to be her own advocate! She went above and beyond to get the answers she needed!
There was a lot of her story that hit home to me as I suffer from Chronic Pain from Cervicogenic and Occipital Migraines that are debilitating from fracturing my neck in 2016 (I healed on my own after 6 months). When she talked about the pain she had and nobody believed her I felt her pain! When she thought she couldn't work anymore and went through the SSD process I understood. Not wanting to give up your job because you still wanted a purpose I get that 10000% that is why I am so blessed to have found my calling of book reviews. What I think is so awsome is even though she got denied, she was able to find her passion in a way she never expected and is thriving at it.
I appreciated Shari giving us a heads up with a trigger warning for one of her chapters. My heart broke for her with what she had to go through. I too know that situation all too well.
She speaks highly of the Plant Based Lifestyle and educates her readers on the wonders it did for her. My suggestion and I speak from experience is to check with a doctor before starting this new lifestyle. I say this because everyone’s body is different. What may work for her may not work for you. For me personally I tried it and became malnourished and sickly.
If you know anyone who suffers from Fibromyalgia, PTSD, Anxiety, or Chronic Pain they would definitely benefit from reading this book! It is highly educational and she gives some great life advice.
