Summary
#NetGalley
In the vein of Allison Brennan, Michelle Adams's Between the Lies is an addictive psychological thriller with twists that keep the reader guessing until the last page, in which a woman who's lost her memory is back home with a family she doesn't know—who are keeping secrets of their own.

The truth is hiding between the lies.

~~~
What would you do if you woke up and didn't know who you were?
Chloe Daniels regains consciousness in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
She doesn't recognize the strangers who call themselves family. She can't even remember her own name.
What if your past remained a mystery?
As she slowly recovers, her parents and sister begin to share details of her life.
The successful career. The seaside home. The near-fatal car crash.
But Chloe senses they're keeping dark secrets—and her determination to uncover the truth will have devastating consequences.
What if the people you should be able to trust are lying to you?
Author Michelle Adams
I was born in 1981, the youngest of five and the only girl. For a short period of time after that I might have been my mum's long awaited princess, but it became obvious that I was the kind of child who was more into mud pies and catching insects than I was pretty dresses. I loved my purple Doc Marten's, hated my floral wallpaper, and was never allowed to paint my bedroom black. No, not even the ceiling.
I went to school in Warwick, UK, and throughout my school years I loved art, music, and English, yet somehow managed to end up studying clinical science at university. Despite my graduation and subsequent employment as a physiologist in cardiology, my creative tendencies were never far away. And the one aspiration I could never let go of was that of being a writer, so on a wet new year's eve sometime around the turn of the millennium, I announced to a friend that I was going to write a book. It took another five years of note taking and day dreaming, but eventually I sat down to complete my first manuscript. It didn't get picked up, but it drove me into writing the second, and third, and so on and so forth. By early 2015 I had finished writing MY SISTER, and I was offered representation by the Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV, and Film Agency. MY SISTER became my debut, and it is hotly followed by BETWEEN THE LIES in July 2018.
Now I write almost every day, starting at nine, finishing at some point in the afternoon. Sometimes people ask me where I get my idea's from, and it's a hard question to answer. Lot's of things inspire me, but if I had to sum it up in one word the answer would probably be people; the things we do, say, and the different ways in which we behave towards one another. When I’m not writing I love to read. The first book that I didn't want to end was Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale, and the first book that broke my heart was Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Gerald's Game by Stephen King was the spark that made me want to write in the first place. I think I was probably about nine when I read that.
I like people who don't give up on their dreams, and those who show compassion for other people. I am crazy about my cat, and fortunate that the other people in my house tolerate him. I love travelling, and am lucky enough to live close to Greece which has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. I'm currently training for the London marathon, so if you've got training tips, or ideas on how to avoid shin splints, I want to hear them. Finally, if you love Game of Thrones you can count me as a friend, but if you have access to a pre-release copy of The Winds of Winter, you can count yourself part of the family.
First, I want to thank Michelle Adams, St. Martin Griffin and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Between the Lies by Michelle Adams is one of the best books in this genre I have read all year. It was fast paced, suspenseful, thrilling, exciting, a lot of twists and turns you won’t see coming, tragic at times, and a book that you won’t want to put down. Between the Lies is a book that truly lives up its title.
Michelle does a phenomenal job taking her readers inside Chloe’s amnesiacs mind post car accident. The detail of how she is feeling and coping is just incredible. You could tell she was really passionate about this character and wanted to bring out the best in this scene.
 It was an incredible original story with a lot of depth to it.
There is a good lesson in this book that I walked away with. Trust has to be earned not given. Don’t believe everything everyone tells you. Chloe found this out the hard way.
One thing is for sure Michelle is an
incredible storyteller with an amazing imagination!!
This book had an amazing cast of characters and thrilling storyline I would love to see this be made into a Netflix Original Movie. I think it would do really well.
First, I want to thank Sue Fortin, Harper Collins Publishers and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Schoolgirl Missing is a must-read book by Sue Fortin. She demonstrates to her readers that she is the queen of psychological thrillers.  She does this by building up the suspense and hits you middle to the end of the book with the punch.  All the twists and turns to get to the big punches were shocking and mind blowing. I never saw them coming.  I was intently glued to my kindle needing to know how this book ended. For everything I have mentioned she has become one of my favorite authors in this genre. I would gladly read and review for her again.
Arresting Mason
Arresting Onyx book 1
By Amber Daulton
Review written by HeidiLynn’s BookReviews
First, I want to thank Amber Daulton for providing me with this book so I could bring you this review.
WOW!! Arresting Mason by Amber Daulton part 1 of the Arresting Onyx Series really started off the book with a bang! Right from sentence one she caught my attention by the way Mia was reacting to the traumatic scene between she and Mason. I commend Amber for that incredible hook into the story!! She had me smiling almost laughing at the way Mia was reacting but it was so cute. Understandable once you found out why.
Warning this book may trigger some of your readers. This book talks of rape between two men but also a male and female. If this bothers you may not want to read it.
Amber wrote an incredible story with two very strong characters in Mia and Mason in this book. Both had Unique pasts that they were trying to overcome. However, as a team they both complimented eachother. Mia didn’t judge Mason for his past yet she looked past it and saw the man that he truly was. She had a beautiful heart and very understanding unlike other characters in this book. I loved these two together!!
The chemistry these two had were off the charts! Amber sure knows how to write her sex scenes!!
This book has so many twists and turns that not even I saw coming! Amber kept her readers on her toes!! I love that in an author!
This book is dedicated to Greg Amber’s husband. He has read so many of the drafts of this story that he knows the characters as much as she does.
Review: The Girls are Gone by Michael Brodkorb and Allison Mann
Author Allison Mann and Michael Brodkorb
About the Authors:
#NetGalley
Michael Brodkorb and Allison Mann met during the 2016 Grazzini-Rucki criminal trial. Allison worked at a law firm representing David Rucki, the father, who was trying to find his girls. Michael was working for the Star Tribune, covering the story as the case developed.
Michael and Allison have spent the last two years working together investigating and researching to find the answers to many questions that had been left unanswered for years. They have analyzed court documents, reviewed investigative files, and conducted numerous interviews to provide a completed story about how and why two children vanished from their family and friends for 944 days.  Their passion for following the case and connecting the dots to figure out the truth of what really happened led them to write “The Girls Are Gone.”
“The Girls Are Gone” provides new details about the disappearance of Samantha and Gianna Rucki and includes interviews with members of the Rucki family, including exclusive interviews with Samantha and Gianna Rucki. The book also discusses the connection between Michelle MacDonald, who is currently a candidate for the Minnesota Supreme Court. “The Girls Are Gone” tells the true story of two sisters who went missing, the father who kept searching, and the adults who conspired to keep the truth hidden.
On the evening of April 19, 2013, Samantha and Gianna Rucki disappeared. Two of five children born to David Rucki and Sandra Grazzini-Rucki, the teenage sisters vanished in the midst of their parents divorce.
The girls father, David Rucki, worked tirelessly with law enforcement to search day and night for his two missing daughters, following every lead while raising three remaining children at home. Their mother, Sandra Grazzini-Rucki, used her newfound freedom to vacation around the world, abandoning her children. And as the investigation intensified, catching the attention of the media, Sandra also disappeared.
On November 18, 2015 – 944 days after they disappeared – the girls were found living on a ranch in northern Minnesota by law enforcement.
Criminal charges were filed against four people, including the girls’ mother, for their role in the disappearance of the Rucki sisters. “The Girls Are Gone” chronicles key events during the criminal trials of the people who were later convicted or pleaded guilty for their involvement in this heinous crime.  The book examines the other adults who aided in the conspiracy to hide the truth and the Rucki sisters.
The Girls are Gone
By Michael Brodkorb and Allison Mann
Review written by HeidiLynn’s BookReviews
First, I want to thank Michael Brodkorb, and Allison Mann for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
The Girls are Gone is a true story of two sisters who vanished, the father who kept searching, and the adults who conspired to keep the truth hidden. Michael Brodkorb and Allison Mann both collaborated on this book together and made a fantastic team.
This book Is dedicated to the parents who never stop searching for their missing children.
Allison and Michael did an incredible job doing all the research on this case and telling it in this story. The Girls are Gone is incredibly detailed with a lot of information from the case. This book had the backstory of the couple, interviews from court, emails back and forth, explained about the rough custody battle, etc.
In the beginning of the book you get to learn about David and Sandra and how they met, fell in love, married and had a family.
However, good things come to an end and unfortunately this book is written because of that. It is a very unique story. One that I was surprised I didn’t hear on the news myself.
My favorite part of the book was when the girls go missing and that aspect of the drama. That added some excitement into the book. Some of the scenes were drawn out with the legal end of things due to the custody hearings.
Throughout this book my heart was always with the kids and what they were put through in all of this. None of this was fair to them to have them play one parent over the other. So many times, I just wanted to give them a big hug.
The electronic copy I received was not formatted correctly. Many places the font size was different than the rest of the font making it smaller.
Review: In The Best Interest of the Child by Lily Llewellyn
#NetGalley
Excerpt
I gripped the wheel tightly as I gazed across to the other side of the deep, vast gorge. The moors were beautiful, still, a far cry from the desperation and despair that filled my troubled mind. It would be frighteningly easy. Just a single movement of my foot on the accelerator, a few seconds and the nightmare would be over. We would be free of him. Free of the insanity and trauma we were being forced to live through every waking moment of every hellish day.
I stared ahead. The pale limestone seemed to glow against a sky that was perfectly blue. A tree swayed gently on the other side holding my attention as I sat rigid and desolate in my seat. Hysterical laughter broke through the silence as Rosie began to thrash her arms and legs before proceeding to hum and head bang the empty space in front of her. Pulling the handbrake securely on and shivering at the thought of what had just crossed my mind I climbed into the back seat and held Rosie to me. Calming her, soothing her. My mind raced. There had to be another way.
Mikala raised her gaze to the heavens and raged. “Why? Why? Why?” With every word,
she slammed her palms into the frozen earth. “Why did you have to steal my child? Why
didn’t you just take me? Why did you give her to me only to reclaim her a few short
years later? She was a baby. She hadn’t had a chance to live yet.” Sobbing, Mikala
doubled over, her body wracked with pain. “Please, just take me to be with her. I can’t
do this anymore on my own. I don’t want to. Please have mercy.”
HEIDI LYNN’S BOOK REVIEWS
First, I want to thank Susanna Rogers for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Susanna Rogers Holler & Howl is a 5 star must read for anyone that loves stories around rock and roll lifestyles. She instantly became one of my fave authors in this genre! Come to find out this book is part of the Mosh series I was totally excited. She has gained a new loyal reader in this reviewer!!
There were so many reasons I fell in love with this book.
 However, the main reason was the sweet adorable little boy named Thomas. He totally captured and pulled on my heart strings with the cute sayings and the funny things he did. I loved his relationship he had with his Dad. I could not get enough of that kid.
Susanna did an amazing job with the characters and making them likable and we can even relate to them. Even Nick being a superstar-anyone could relate to the position he was put in.
This book will make you smile ear to ear and you wont stop smiling.
Review: Ripe Letters by Alan Semrow
Author Alan Semrow
**Thank you to Jazzy Book Reviews for letting me be a guest reviewer on their page.**
Rise Letters by Alan Semrow
written by Heidi Lynns Book Reviews
First, I want to thank Alan Semrow for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review. I would also like to thank Jasmine Jordon for allowing me to be a guest reviewer on her blog Jazzy Book Reviews.
RIPE Letters by Alan Semrow was unlike any other LGBT book I had ever read before. Then again I love when authors go outside the box and do something different. Alan decided to write letters in this book but to me it felt more like a diary. There are about 45 letters total in this book.
I had a few favorites out of the 45 that caught my interest. Dear Peter Pan cracked me up immediately!! Come on who wouldn’t crack up laughing when the first line refers “the girls and I had been carrying around this blow-up doll with an erect penis.” The letter just gets better from there!! I have never read an author say “we fucked like volcanos.” That was a priceless line for me!! Well done Alan!!
How could you not like the letter that starts with Dear Ryan Gosling Lover LMAO!! That letter was beautifully written with detail about a special connection someone has with someone visually across the room. The physical and mental connection that Is off the charts but no action is taken.
Alan would like to thank Liz Phair, Frank Ocean, Sheryl Crow and Lana Del Rey for their music that has been ringing in his ears for so many years.
He would also like to thank Peggy Benton, Liz Morgan and Ben Monty for being the family he always wanted, but never thought he deserved. Unconditionally, he loves you. You have taught him so much.
Thank you for Madison LGBT community, in all its eccentricities for letting him in. You have made him feel at home.
Most of all he is thankful to all the men who informed these letters. You have left a mark on him.
