First, I want to thank Kassandra Klay for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Kassandra Klay sure knows how to tell an amazing story with a dramatic cliff hanger at the end in Ambitious Drive Book One of the Ambition Serial! Wow! Even though this was a very short read it was packed with a sexy boss, amazing descriptive sex scenes, two candidates up for a promotion, and freaky stalkers that creeped not only Alex out but me as well! I cant wait to see what happens in the next book! I am definitely a new fan of Kassandra Klay now!!

Review: Michelle Knight Life After Darkness

First, I want to thank the public library for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Michelle Knight is one amazing and brave woman to go through everything she went through being held hostage all those years with the Cleveland Kidnappings, raped, impregnated only to miscarry through all the beatings she went through. However, that was in the past. In this book Life After Darkness it has been 5 years since she has been freed from that torture she was forced to endure. She gives you a sneak peak of what her life was like after she got out. She had her ups and downs. However, she is one tough cookie!

When I heard she was writing this book I was very interested in reading this. I am a huge fan of true crime books. Not for the crime committed per say but the human side behind it. So when this case came out I was very invested in it. I watched all the news stories, watched Dr. Phil interviews, and read Michelle’s first book and related books too it. This one I was especially happy to read because It talks about how she has healed, moved on, found “her sweetie” and is helping other other abuse victims.

You can tell by her beautiful cover photo and the pictures in the book that she has finally let go of the negative past and has found happiness.

Review: Tessa Portrait of a Survivor by Kathleen Kifer of The Lewiston Writer's Group

First, I want to thank Kathleen Kifer and the Lewiston Writers Group for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Kathleen Kifer is the strongest, spunkiest, toughest woman with a huge heart and the bravest Author I know to share her story in Tessa A Portrait of A Survivor. Kathleen has an incredible gift for writing especially when it came to telling her own story. You could tell by just reading it that she was passionate about what she was writing about because she lived it. They always say write about what you know and love. Not to mention by writing this must have healed her and put closure on some events in the book that took place.

Many people like myself who have never personally had a family member diagnosed with any form of cancer may be interested to read this book. They would have a better understanding of what a cancer patient goes through. There is a character whom I actually have a huge soft spot for named Chloe whom got diagnosed with Breast Cancer. In this book Kathleen walks you through the stages of thinking you have the disease, to finding out you do, testing, treatment, etc. Plus, all the emotions, mental parts of it, and of course the physical. Not to mention how the family and friends react. Many parts I will be honest was hard for me to read and I cried. I never knew half of what Breast Cancer Patients went through. Nor did I know how fast it could spread and to other body parts.

One topic that was touched on that I feel strongly about not getting proper medical treatment because they don’t have health insurance. Everyone should have health insurance even if it is Medicaid. For someone who might have any type of cancer and not be able to looked at because they don’t have health insurance is just a crime!!

I was actually shocked to find out to save someone’s life from breast cancer spreading you need to remove the arm. My heart went out to Tessa at this moment in time! I could totally understand where she would feel self-conscious about as she called it her “stump” and didn’t want many people to see it. We all have insecurities about our bodies. Nobody Is perfect. This just now makes her unique. So, I totally understood when she wanted nothing to do with the prosthetic arm! I loved how she stood up to the guy and how understanding Dr. Camden was.

One thing I liked about this book is that she mentioned a lot of places in Buffalo, NY. I too am from Buffalo, NY and smiled when places were mentioned that I knew of. Not many authors put Buffalo, NY locations in their book. So, it is nice to be recognized. Especially if it isn’t for the snow or the Bills loosing.

I love how Kathleen thanked the Lewiston Writers Group for supporting and encouraging her throughout every step of her endeavor.

It was pretty special that her friend Lynn Passanese posed for the beautiful cover of the book as Tessa.

Summary of Book
"If a Tree Falls" is a tender love story that will appeal to any woman who recalls the rapture of having had an adolescent crush on her favorite rock idol. Amanda Morgan's obsession is world famous musician, Marshall Stewart. His poignant love songs sustain her through the turmoil of her teenage years until his sudden disappearance. Never found, he is mourned by his fans and is eventually declared legally dead.

Amanda grows into adulthood and finds what she believes to be genuine love until her fiancé ends their engagement when he cannot stand by his promise that he accepts her infertility. Heartbroken, Amanda seeks a way to re-define herself and move on with her life when she takes a job as a live-in babysitter for six-year-old Dylan Sterner. In hiring her, Dylan's grandmother explains that the boy and his father, Mark, recently came to live with her after an auto accident killed her daughter-in-law and left Mark with a severe leg injury. While Amanda immediately bonds with Dylan, she finds Mark hostile and reclusive. Over time, as clues emerge, she begins to suspect the unbelievable possibility that this broken, mysterious man is Marshall Stewart ten years older and in disguise.

When "Mark" discovers that Amanda is still a fan, he is determined to drive her away but soon realizes that while she's exactly what Dylan needs, he wants her in his own life, as well. As he falls in love with her, he faces the dilemma of admitting his true identity at the risk of betraying her trust and losing her, and Amanda must decide if she can live a life of secrecy to protect the man she loves.

While I gained writing and editorial experience with my first job at a local newspaper, I've been writing romance since my teen years and love the challenge of creating magic between unlikely characters. I submitted the original version of this manuscript to Harlequin some years ago and was fortunate to catch the attention of then Editorial Assistant Deborah Tile. While she was enthused and encouraging about my work I developed breast cancer during that time and was forced to set the project aside to deal with treatment and several recurrences. Now fully recovered, I recently pulled out the manuscript and have breathed new life into an idea that has blossomed into much more than I started out with. A modern day fairy tale, it is written for the woman who wants to curl up at the end of a long, demanding day and go away to that intriguing place of "What if...?".

Rigged by Vanessa North

Vanessa North

Author of over a dozen novels, novellas, and short stories, Vanessa North delights in giving happy-ever-afters to characters who don’t think they deserve them. Relentless curiosity led her to take up knitting and run a few marathons “just to see if she could.” She started writing for the same reason. Her very patient husband pretends not to notice when her hobbies take over the house. Living and writing in Northwest Georgia, she finds her attempts to keep a quiet home are frequently thwarted by twin boy-children and a very, very large dog.

First, I want to thank Vanessa North for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

WOW!! Vanessa North Rigged me to be my new favorite author when it comes to MMF Bondage books!! She was an author I had never heard nor read from before. I was drawn to her book by the unique cover and amazing synopsis of her book. Now she is someone I would gladly read from again.

I admit I read a lot of erotica stories that involve MMF, FFM, and sometimes BDSM and other taboo subjects. You can say I am an openminded reader-to a point.  Each writer has their own way of writing erotica and their own forte.  Vanessa wrote her scenes very sensual, genuine, and incredibly sexy. The way she eased the characters into the bondage scenes were mind blowing with the sexual tension brewing. As a reader I wish I was in the room watching Sean tie Gordon for the first time ever. I was jealous I was not Kait watching the scene unfold.

The story line in Rigged was the most creative and unique storyline that I had ever read before. Even though at the end of the story you could guess what was eventually going to happen. However, it didn’t diminish how great the ending was.

Prodigal Captive by Rachel Woods

#CandidBookReviews
First, I want to thank Rachel Woods for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Rachel Woods wrote the most unique and interesting mystery book with interesting topics in The Prodigal Captive that I have ever read before. There were times in the book where I was laughing and other times I was shaking my head thinking WOW she went there. I read a lot of mystery books but none of them deal with a severed penis from a dead body. Made me think of John Wayne Bobbitt. Whom ironically is from my neck of the woods. So, that is why I was laughing.

I totally commended Silas the character that came out to his father as thinking he was born the wrong gender! That must have been so hard to do coming out as being transgender. I am a very open-minded person and very pro LGBT. So, I was totally cool with this aspect of the story. What concerned me was he was one of the ones that went missing. You couldn’t help wonder if this was the reason behind it. However, he was not the only one that was missing.

This was a very fast paced moving mystery that kept you guessing. For me I kept wondering why they cut off his penis lmao!!

A Reason to Live by T.K. Chapin

TK Chapin and his beautiful wife Crystal

T.K. CHAPIN writes Christian Romance books designed to inspire and tug on your heart strings. He believes that telling stories of faith, love and family help build the faith of Christians and help non-believers see how God can work in the life of believers. He gives all credit for his writing and storytelling ability to God. The majority of the novels take place in and around Spokane Washington, his hometown. Chapin makes his home in the Pacific Northwest and has the pleasure of raising his daughter with his beautiful wife Crystal.

First, want to thank T.K. Chapin for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

A Reason to Live A Reason to Love Series: Book One is one of T.K. Chapin’s will be one of his best series yet. I have been a huge fan of T.K. Chapin for a while now and each book he puts out amazes me. Each one gets better than the last one. What is it with single men and young kids put in difficult positions in books that just tug on my heart strings?! Mix in a little bit of what T.K. does best with incorporating his faith into the story and you have an amazing story!

So many times in this book I wanted to jump into the book and hug the characters. So much heartache and pain in many of the characters. However, a chance encounter brings two people together and changes both of their lives for the better. It is a truly amazing story that will make your heart smile!

I must add that I am totally in love with the cover! Even before I knew what the book was about I knew I had to read this book! Kudos to T.K.’s Graphic Designer.

First, I want to thank Ameila Hendrey for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Warning to fellow readers this book is not for everyone. This book has topics such as violence, domestic abuse, verbal abuse, rape, abandonment at age 3, and could be a trigger to many. The material in this book is not for the faint of heart. Read at your own risk.

Ameila Hendrey is one of the bravest and one of the strongest woman I know to share her story in What Nobody Knew.  This is her story of the emotional, mental and most of all the horrid physical pain that was inflicted by her father over and over throughout the years. How her Step Mom just let it happen and how her biological Mom at age 3 abandoned her.
So many times I wanted to jump in the book and rescue her from everything that was going on.

You cant help but get emotionally attached to this character whom pulls on so many of your heart strings. Infact, there are two times in this book that I literally cried for Amelia! I said this once and I will say it again nobody deserves what Amelia went through. This is one book that will stick with you way after the book ends.

One of the aspect of the books that I really enjoyed were the reports from Social Services. You got their view of what they thought what was really happening to Ameila. Obviously, some personal information to respect the privacy was left out.

However, In this story you got Ameila’s truth, her father’s lies, and what Social Services.

I seriously think this would make an awesome movie on Lifetime TV or a Netflix Original.

Cuckoo by Robert Kerins (Lewiston Writers Group)

First, I want to thank Robert Kerins and The Lewiston Writers Group for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Before, I begin my review I want to mention that this book may trigger some readers. This book contains abduction, date rape drug, rape with the intent of getting pregnant, etc. If any of these offend you this book may not be for you.

WOW!!! Robert Keirns really knows how to write a fast paced, jaw dropping, amazing, crime novel that once you start reading you can’t put down. Even if you tried to put it down you just can’t. You need to know how it ends!! Robert wrote a never been written before story line that will just shock you to your core!! As a woman reading this you will feel for these women in the book and what they have gone through. You will be disgusted by the man behind it all. Overall, I now have a new favorite crime author and his name is Robert Keirns. I can’t wait to read his other books.

One thing I really loved about this book was all the references to places in WNY. I smiled at many of the places I go to like Tops, Tim Hortons (my favorite place to get Coffee), Toys-R-Us, Niagara Falls, DiCamillo’s, Leonardo’s Pizza & Subs, etc. I could visualize the places that he was talking about in the book seeing that I was familiar with them. That made me smile and more connected with the book.

This book started out fast and one of the scenes that hooked me in the beginning of the book had me biting my short nails. Having the woman’s body going over the rocks of the Niagara Falls. Being familiar with The Niagara Falls I could picture this woman going over The Falls. Honestly, I could picture myself be that woman and going over The Falls. Granted she was found dead. But WOW the way he described it-I was in pain just reading it.

I am going to be very hesitant next time I go to Tops and interact with their employees.

This is one book that will stay with you with you emotionally and mentally way after you read it. I also feel strongly that this book would be great as a movie on Lifetime TV Channel.
